I still remember when this came out. I was in grade 6 and i came home after an exhausting day at school and there was nothing better than Cooper playing LP, drinking lemonade waiting for the sun to set so i can go down and hang out with my friends.

+Linda B. I think he and Luke Holland (Luke sorted this out recently believe it or not) have the same style in that they are so fucking talented they don't seem to have care to find a pocket. They can't keep a beat going in a song for very long without feeling the over-whelming urge to add a fill, also him having more of a rock style is a huge factor as most rock/metal drummers practically rely on fills. Also the balance of "entertainment" and "covering" has to be struck. In his eyes he may feel that a cover showing off his improvement in playing is entertaining to watch as he shows that off while playing to a wildly modified song. Some enjoy it and some don't but I don't understand why people say he is overrated as he obviously has skill, far more than most drummers. Does he deserve best drummer award? No. Some credit? Definitely. Is his style of playing controversial? Obviously. Is it fun? As I have a similar style though I am far less experienced, self-taught, and admittedly pretty sloppy, yes it is fun which is the sole reason why I even play. (I can't stand the thought of practicing as I personally see drumming as a hobby and not something I want as a profession, so I'll probably stay sloppy forever but practicing takes the fun out of it to me so I'm not gonna do it. Just me though.)
+Jacob P That's in essence what I said xD. Though the phrase "self-improvement" is iffy to say the least. There are two (at least two distinctly different) types of drummers. The ones like yourself that got classic lessons and played in concert bands etc. and the ones that are self taught that also seem to be Metalheads or rock guys. The latter in terms of style tends to have a bunch of fills in the songs, so after a while they pick up a habit of adding in fills and other things constantly because interesting drums tend to be the main thing in Rock and Metal music. So this group doesn't really have to learn to disipline themselves due to the style they play, however when they move out of that style the flaw becomes apparent. Whatever talent level that people wish to give him, what still has to be recognized is that he is still better than the average, meaning more than mediocre. As it really doesn't take much to be a mediocre drummer. Though the point of Entertainment and Duplication of the song has to be balanced. Stick tricks and all are for show and he is on youtube. Gee, I wonder what he has to do to impress the non-drummers out there?
