@@monkeyspank3005 Counterpicking is more important in Melee unlike other fighters because most stages in 2d fighters are all the same with different backgrounds only. Where as melee stages and platforms heavily influence the game and tech style. Example: M2k loses and chooses FD to perfect grab combo spacies. Maybe you want to use falcon or marth ditto. You dont really have to think like that in Street Fighter etc.
@@pyua8723 no I mean in every tournament for every game I've ever been in including melee if you won with a character you stay as that character, you can't choose another character if you're opponent loses and switches to counter you either. How are you supposed to adapt if you can easily switch even if you win?

I do recall me winning and them counterpicking the stage and then the TO asking if I am going to stay or change my character. I feel counterpicks in melee are more stage reliant than character. Idk.
Man it's annoying hearing the commentators just crow about not double lasering from the ledge. It's one of the raddest most badass maneuvers in the game lol a lot of the time a Falco just HAS to double laser from the ledge. Everytime. Until he doesn't. Yeesh, have some principles, especially against the lame-o's. Also, they aren't keen on how Mango is trying to bait shield grabs by daring on M2K's sheild high and then drifting back. Ginger pointed this out in the current meta. It's just cool that Mango was doing it at least two years ago. His falco was kind of always pushing the meta but people weren't catching on until non-gods started really trying to analyse Mango's game and take things from it they can use. It's interesting and he definitely is perfecting his Falco these days.
I love seeing a good old game 5 set between these two. It's nearly always such a hype set.
