Thx for posting this. I ordered one last month and have yet to receive it...mainly because I wanted the black version which tacks on another 2 weeks. I was most concerned with the angle of the mount...and what you show here is perfect...although I will be attaching this to a Black Inc. integrated aero bar, so the angle may be different. On another note, the space between the front of the bar to the installed computer is something that I also was wondering...as I use a Karoo2 with the Karoo mounting system. I like that more since I have broken the Garmin tabs on my computers before...but with the Karoo, you don't have to worry about twisting the computer on, thus needing the extra rotation space for a good fit.
@@williamkochi1415 this mount is just clears the 1040 with barley a mm to spare (just as I want it) if they tweaked the length on all other mount to take the 1050 it might be longer (don’t know if they have tough) I ordered min back in June before they started makidng them 1050 compatible.
I have the Alpitude on my SL7. For some strange reason, it comes in four pieces. This really requires 3 hands to install. I ended up gluing two of the pieces together, which made installation much easier.
Hi Tobias. As I told you on Strava I’m using the alpitude on my supersix and the cannondale integrated handlebar has the same issue with this computer mount. So I was asking to the guys of alpitude and they pointed to me to a plastic insert that was included in the box that has the same function of your “bodge”. So maybe if you write alpitude they xan support you with something similar. Maybe the standard mount does not consider the need of this “spacer”. Hope this helps
Cheers mate! It’s all about compromises in the end… my plan was honestly to “down grade” to the 840 in the end but I just love the battery life on the 1040 so much, I think I’ll work on weight saving in other areas ;)
I don't get the hate of the gps pointing a bit upwards, I do it so I can read it easier. I use a hidemybell mount, It can also carry my DJI Action or a light.
And one other thing- i want a lightweight double-sided mount, one that has a Garmin tab on each side. This looks much more elegant rather than having the prongs hanging down and having to bolt a light on every time you want to use your light vs simply twisting your light on/off when you want to use it. Mfg: Please produce this!
The carbon works I’ve owned myself is for the THM/schmokle stem and that was not a good experience for me, could not get it stay I place for long. I’m sure the models that have proper screw attachment like the once in this video will do the work just fine though.
Oh irony ! Spends good $ on mounts to save few grams to lug around a heavy garmin 1040 😂😂 for big $$$😂 those are very nice premium products looking great but It doesn’t beat a garmin 530 and the cheap carbon mount you showed at the end I think it’s about 20g works really well you can mount it at an angle if necessary I’m using an integrated handlebar with a -15 stem for that classic look (I really don’t like the -6 stems and how they look) so your garmin is at the perfect angle without faff 🎉
as nice as the ti one looks - the way the computer just sits on top looks, well, a bit shit. The way wahoo builds its computers into the mount to look streamlined or "aero" is way better. I 3d printed a custom one for my Bolt out of ABS that is just as light as those (think its 15g no bolts), looks better on the bike and puts the computer in the perfect position without any crappy spacers...
Darimo is the least impressive of the 3 but you shouldn't need to use thread lock anywhere on a bike,if it's tighten correctly it shouldn't come loose, ive never used thread lock and it's very bumpy where i live.💯✌🏻🚴♂️
Most of them will fail, especially on Gravel Bikes. Garmin 1050 is >150g, with the "GoPro-Lights" they will fail - sooner or later. Same with ORBEAs OEM 2-screw mount - complete useless design what will make your 700$ Computer fly away...
These are holders for bike computers, not phones disguised as bike computers. You just don't need to buy huge devices with a bunch of useless functions, unless of course weight is important to you.
The exquisite look of the Ti parts definitely worth the extra grams and euros.
I looooove the Alptitude mounts.

Good to know. Thx for the update. I think my order is for the 1040 so I should be good for the Karoo2.

what a nice Titanium mount, great idea to put the gopro mount back there. but what happened to your glowworm light?
Still use it for proper night rides in the mountains.
The self-contained Lezyne light is for "short" after work rides

Good to know! Cheers for the tip!
First off, love your content!! I will have to give you crap over talking about grams and you run a Garmin 1049? 😳😂
Cheers mate!

6g, garmin mount on the stem ;)

What are your thoughts on the mount from Carbon Works?

Shouldn’t it be the “Saw off a Gram” TH-cam channel?
Well now i have like 3 new cycling computer 😅mounts otw from taobao, thanks
Challenge accepted 🎉

For those wahoo users cut the bolt aero one to the first screw possibility then you end und with 13.3 but ultra aero

With the Ti-Parts mount, looks like you're sacrificing the use of a handlebar bag with how far back the light mounts.
Pointing up in the air is far better imo. Looks better and is easier to use. But that's just me...
Ähm, no 😮

@@taburetca 1050 is a typical bike computer as used by half of the world who is using also a Karoo or 1040. Try again answering less BS.
Funny how people are willing to spend hundreds of dollars on a part they can make from scrap carbon and a computer holder and some JB weld.
Or just use the garmin elastic mount is $5, weighs 6 grams and is durable as hell 🙈
