Also the hotel staff seem pretty reasonable. They aren't killers or profiteering, they're just trying to run a hotel and keep people safe by keeping them off the 8th floor.

This spirit overall seemed like a nice guy, went out of his way to return the guy's phone. Such a nice individual did not deserve a partner who would and did cheat on him
That would be cool actually that the spirits of the 8th floor have different personalities and appearance depending on their human past and their way of dying. The suicidal man was a broken man, but doesn't put his anger towards other. He's still has his humanity. It would be cool if, for example, a guy have a hole on his head and it turns out he was a killer who loves playing live and death game like the Russian roulette. His appearance would be a distorted man with a smile on his face, wants to harm and toeture you through different bets and games.
I don't know if this was because of conflict between the text and animated format of the story, but the structural engineering of the eighth floor was also scary to me. It feels like something that should not exist physically. We see the protagonist walk up and down the ninth and seventh floor, but if the eighth floor *"goes up a flight of stairs,"* then it should be the same floor as nine. These two floors can't exist in the same level unless floor eight is sandwiched between seven and nine. And even if that's the case, there is also a spatial paradox (kind of): we might infer that the total length of floor eight's hallway is the same as seven and nine because there is a room directly above the protagonist's. But in my non-expert opinion, if that's true then floor eight can only be accessed regularly through the staircase between seven and nine (which does not exist), because if floor eight could only be entered through some gap that is *not aligned with doors for floor seven and nine*, then the whole geometry will be disarranged and I think the ghost guy's room cannot be aligned directly below protagonist's room. BUT THEN AGAIN I don't know what the floor plan of the hotel looks like so I might be off by leagues.
The story is mostly inspired by the Stephen King story/movie 1408. The problem is whoever wrote this didn't take any thematic reason as to the 8th floor being cursed it just is. Many hotels don't have a 13th floor, 13 is unlucky after all, so the number of floors will be shifted usually making the 12th or 14th floor the 13th. In 1408 there were multiple things that made it a bad room. One it being the real 13th floor and another 1408 if you add each number up is also 13 1+4+0+8. This story they were just like 8 is the bad floor. 7 and 9 aren't really unlucky numbers so the floors being off doesn't really add anything to the story, and 8 itself isn't associated with anything. At best I like that this story setup that the guy sort of got lucky and went into the most tame room, and it could have been much worse for him. Though it was a little too lazy in just lifting 99% of its concept from King, then the other rooms in the floor just get minor mentions, and it tries to explain things in an obtuse way.
I like stories like this, where they establish that everyone knows what’s going on and it’s like an open secret that no one can solve, all they can do is try and stop it from hurting more people. The 8th floor kinda seems like a precursor to the multitude of rules creepypasta when you think about it along those lines
I love it when ghosts aren’t necessarily bad people but just there, it still makes it creepy even if they aren’t dangerous, it also kinda makes you feel bad for them.
Although it may not be a good idea to pick up the phone, as it was returned by the ghost and is wet, you gotta admit the kindness of the spirit to grab it for him.
The floor is hella cursed but atleast the ghost is real nice. He even returned the phone so the man didn't have to risk getting cursed going back there again.
Curses usually involve negative energy, this would be a spirit who’s not moved on due to grief of being lied too are even possibly unfinished business!
The scariest part is that it's very likely that the cheating wife became aware of her husband's fate, and never thought about it again. No backstabber is worth your life.
Exactly, cheating is so much worse than people give it credit for. It can not only break a persons heart for their whole life, but it can cause someone to end themselves. Cheaters are the worst types of monsters out there in my own opinion
Fantastic recreation on this Creepypasta. Something to help cheer me up around the time I'm feeling depressed. Like the characters you selected for the roles in this. I don't think I ever seen the Spy be casted as the main role before. So it's nice. Along with the other TF2 characters you have here. Love how this turned out. Sorry for the hassle you gone. I'll try to find a shorter video/story and a theme you can work with. Although I'm hoping you could do this one other story or 2 in the future. certain parts of the hotel map made me feel like this is a TF2, L4D crossover. i'd love to see something like that. the tf2 mercs taking a break in a hotel when they bump into the L4D cast, only to discover that the 8th floor is a lab to study the infected made by CEDA and then everything goes to hell and there's a outbreak. now it's up to the the mercs and L4D cast to fight there way out and get to safety.
these videos are legendary and my heart got racing so fast from this video and some of the other ones like “logs from the look out” and that I asked my brother to feel my heart and he was concerned on how hard and fast it was beating and I wasn’t scared by your videos(kind of but not really) but in the back of my mind I just got so paranoid like I didn’t even know how this is possible with TF2 and SFM and not even “emisis blue” or “spy’s disguise” got my heart racing that much. Seriously you should have millions of subscribers with the quality of your videos, good job.
This is among my favorite Creepypastas of all time. Great work! It's the closest we'll get to a cinematic adaptation. (I honestly wasn't expecting the hotel foyer to look as dilapidated as it did. I'm aware the hotel is over a century old, but I thought it would get more modern furnishings at least. I also wasn't expecting the brick-wall stairwell.)
Man, I'm so glad to have found your channel. Every time you upload I get so hyped. You have a unique animation channel, you are the only sfm channel that I know of that makes these creepypastas with the correct atmosphere and in this style. Not only that but on top of that, you succed on making it with the TF2 characters, characters that were made for a game to look good and funny, and you turn it into horror, like some other sfm animators did. It's not a top tier animation, the movement of the characters looks a bit still, but by no means it's horse shit, it's smooth enough and the narrators voice is pleasant to hear, and the music choice is good too. You are also pretty active, most of the times small channels like this get stuck and never make it past a few videos and often remain sead and/or are abandoned and forgotten, but you upload regularly. I really enjoy this channel, it is also pretty nostalgic to listen to creepypastas, it makes me feel like I'm in the 2013-2016 internet again. Hope you get more attention.

So my thoughts is that the 8th floor is in THE SAME SPACE as floor 7, right beneath 9th. Kind of a "Tardis" effect, but like a layered version.
