What kind of compost do you use? Composted horse/cows manure? Mix of them or something else? Do you plant/seed directly into the compost or you mix the compost in the bed with dirt a little bit somehow?
Most of our crops are transplanted, but any seeded go straight on top, yes. The one big downside of no-dig, in my mind, is growing mesclun. Then we have to completely pull out the crop as we don't do tillage. Its much more work, but one of the only drawbacks...
Hey mate, thanks for the videos How are managing to do a fast turn over for your direct seeded salad crops in preparation for the next crop? Are you just pulling and then throwing compost on bed? tarping inbetween? Cheers
I read in your book about 'bulk mulches attracting Spanish Slugs' but are the wood chip paths not bulk mulch providing ideal conditions for slugs ? // Värmdö, Stockholm
We buy in a bunch to start the beds off, when the biggest amounts are needed. We make some, and next year onwards we'll probably make enough to have it covered on farm.
Richard, I am trying to purchase your book, through your website, and it is not converting to U.S. currency, as we are in the states. I am thinking $60.xx. Is this correct? Also,, I am enjoying your channel and look forward to watching you through the coming year, as my wife and I are transitioning from conventional farming to a model similiar to yours. I wish I had learned of this model years ago. Thanks for being here to share your knowledge.
Nicely done 👍
You're giving lots of very specific and detailed observations. Super Bonus! Thank-you Richard, for these excellently produced videos . Subscribed.
Another great video - thanks. Where can I find the e-book version of your book, thanks?

A base of cow or horse manure. We also have a lot of chicken manure, so use that too
Richard, what is that green fencing behind you? Interesting
So your seeding right on top of the roots from the previous crop. That simple?

Yes, the book is 350 sek, plus shipping. Shipping anywhere outside Sweden is expensive. A shame, as the postal service is really quite poor.
Yes, unfortunately postage here is very expensive. There is the ebook option on the website too...
I am going to have to check this book out.
I like your videos a lot, but your intro is way, way too loud compared to the rest of the video.
