Also in terms of liquids, my mum always click and collects things to the boots at the airport and picks it up after duty free. You can then either empty them into smaller containers to bring home the liquids or buy a 200ml or so bottle of whatever product you need because by the end of a week or so with a few of you it’ll be pretty much gone!
Probably more helpful for when you travel with the kids next but thought it mention it!
