    Hey, looking at this lens myself, i assume your shooting full frame, the shots from the water into the light are great, very sharp and great exposure. I just got a 5dmk3 and did some similar shots into the light on the 24-105 L and the detail is amazing, well done.

      Yip also have the 5d mark 3. Thanks Steve, yes the 24-105 is a great lens i use it often.

    Amazing scenes. Thank you. It’s just a pity you didn’t mention the annoying loud IS whirring from the IS motors.

      Not in this session I didn't, wanted to show what the widest aperture would produce. Usually I would.

    I'm a lot of years late to this party, but the 70-200 f4 is either going to be my next, or my second-next lens to purchase. I may do a 24-105 first. Either one will be a nice addition to use with my 7D and 1DX Mark III.

    This is by far the best lens review I've seen, you may not be talking about all the petty facts, but you show it in action and gave a good opinion on it. Thanks for the help on finding me a new lens :)

    The way you were slinging that gear i was wondering if it was lighter..2.8 is a small chore to use..use a circular polariser for great results in beach and surf captures

    Awesome wave and surfer pics . What song is that when you are in the water ?

  • @JadenWhite
    @JadenWhite 7 ปีที่แล้ว

    Holy crap the water pictures are amazing. What do you think about the modern cameras having such good ISO to where you don't really need the 2.8. Also where can i get and underwater case for the 80D?

    • @DylanBrayshaw
      @DylanBrayshaw  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      yeah thats right the iso is getting so good down you can just use the f4. I use aquatech housings and have also used the cheaper mieikon housings which work well but you cant change ports.

    • @JadenWhite
      @JadenWhite 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Dylan Brayshaw so what would you recommend? Because the only one I saw for the 80D was 995 USD....

    I have and love this lens, it’s brilliant glass. I use it for birds in flights and landscapes mainly but it can also hold its own in a studio, but it’s very rare I use it there as I mainly shoot still life with my 100mm Macro L f2.8. For birds in flight you are usually at at least f8 to keep the whole bird in focus, so you up the ISO to get the shutter speed. For landscapes in low light you just extend your shutter speed and again you are around f11. So for my uses the f2.8 would be a total waste of money and added weight. I don’t know how long I’ve had mine, I think I got it just after my 5DII, about 8 years ago, and I have never once got Lens envy for another 70-200. I still have the 5DII as well and use it for landscapes saving my 5DIII for the studio.

      Yes that’s it mark, I think I’ll have mine for a while too, it’s so good. I love how smooth the zoom ring is too.

    How can you zoom with the aquatech .

    • @DylanBrayshaw
      @DylanBrayshaw  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      YouzExtrem i have the older style zoom gears. There is a zoom ring around the lens which toggles onto a wheel that you can adjust on the outside of the port

    Hi Dylan! How do you zoom in when in the water with the port around the lens? Thanks!

    • @DylanBrayshaw
      @DylanBrayshaw  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey Brendan the aquatech housing has a zoom gear that goes around the lens, the 70-200 is also super smooth for zooming too

    Can it fit the cannon 7d

    • @DylanBrayshaw
      @DylanBrayshaw  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Will Maddocks yeah I think it does, I do have the full frame sensor with the 5d mk3, so the crop factor on the 7d can give you more zoom.

    • @horacepastrana7437
      @horacepastrana7437 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Crop factor in the 7d is 1.6....70-200 x 1.6 =112-320mm
