Watching instructional cartoons of Pvt Snafu from WW2 are hilarious. Many better than modern cartoons because they're not weighed down with "sensitivity".
I would expand on the single nods as greetings. A nod upwards to a stranger is a challenge/demonstration of toughness, a nod upwards to a friend is a sign of respect and goodwill. A nod downwards to a stranger is a polite but informal greeting, a nod downwards to a friend is an acknowledgement that you greet them but don't want to converse. Then there's whether you jut your chin forward when nodding upward as an intensifier, the speed at which you execute either gesture, how deep or high you nod, whether you smile as you do it, how you smile, what you do with your eyes, etc, etc, etc . . . The nod is an incredibly versitile gesture.
This briefing failed to mention a three key points to avoid conflict. 1. Do not mess with their children. 2. Do not mess with their pets. 3. Do not mess with their boats.
As an alien, I would pay that 25CR/week... I should have learnd more about them before asking "Is that small hairy and loud creature in your handbag your food reserve?" Oh and the "I'll put you in your place" does not imply that they will help you get home.
heh there are several finger gestures that mean the same as the middle finger depending on the culture... there is the index finger and the middle finger facing outwards means the same as the middle finger in some places which should not be interpreted as the same as facing inwards... which can mean victory, peace or "cheese"... then there is the thumb up... in most cases it is seen as a positive affirmation but in some cultures it means the same as the middle finger...
Once read a book where a human was trying to explain to an elf _There used to be natural 'gates' that connected our worlds, but stuff happened, and eventually human tech advanced enough to recreate the phenomenon, whereupon the two species found each other again._ how helpful the f-word is in human conversion. It was conjugated, used in various tenses, and combined, alongside possible connotations. The elf was nonplussed.
Them's figthin words. Say that, ONE more .... Time. Try if you think yer bad. Three additional phrases to be aware of when dealing with an agitated human. Please note the special inflection and pause in phrase 2 Humans will sometimes ask you to repeat yourself but if the vocal pattern stresses the number of attempts and has a pause before finishing the sentence they are likely angry.
I've always liked the Tibetans' version of a smile: mouth open wide, tongue out. S'a shame you don't often meen Tibetans. Amazing woodworkers and farmers.
Does anyone know what video had the story about the AI that took over humanity, then the galactic community found earth, and humans left the AI behind on earth alone, then earth got invaded and the humans came back and saved the AI?
Hi narrator, long time fan. I have ask, is this you narrating this audiobook? Helheim Fractured Empire, Book 1 By: Zachary Dugas, Daniel Jones Narrated by: Ewan Parker
Likely to be Jewish? Nope, very very unlikely to be Jewish in fact. There are fewer than 15 million people of that faith or lineage world wide. The more you know and all that jazz..
Instructional videos are always good for laughs. All the multiple customs one are my favorite.

Absolutely LOVING the education on human culture ones, too, though there's a fair share of "ya gonna get hit hard" phrasings missing

imagine trying to explain the kiwi aussie "Yeah nah", "Yeah nah yeah", "nah yeah", "nah yeah nah" and "cuz" "bruv" "chur"
poor aliens
Huh, the Midwest has a few things like that. We have "yeah, no", "no, yeah", "no, yeah, no", etc
@@dacomputernerd4096 oh no way that's cool, for us it's all about the intonation, and which is first
How about you guys?
_Busier than a one-legged man in a burro kicking contest._
"Yeah, nah. Yeah, nah, yeah.", well that's Australian, and highly contextual!
This briefing failed to mention a three key points to avoid conflict.
1. Do not mess with their children.
2. Do not mess with their pets.
3. Do not mess with their boats.
Any children and any pets.
1. Yes
2. Yes
3. And yes
You can honestly just condense that down to one.
1. Do not mess with humans and their shit.

Towards the end I was getting the image that the author has watched one too many world star videos.
They forgot "Thems is fightin' words".
That one is rather obvious.
Also note that saying “I told you so” may result in an attack without warning.
Or repetitions of "I told you, I freaking told you" as they approach
My favorite is the phrase "jump em!"

_C'mon if ye think yer hard enough!!_
Now, the question is, how many credits is a burger? That’s the perspective standard to gauge how much of a rip-off that class is. 😂😂😂
Many of the 'common' sayings (idioms and colloquialisms) are very obscure.
I was surprised that the term ‘broadcast’ originated as a farming method!
Or that _snabh_ is a word so old that it has the same meaning in more than two languages!
Forgot to mention the dangers involving the phrase 'oh excrement'
25CRD a week? That's not to bad.
I've always liked the Tibetans' version of a smile: mouth open wide, tongue out.

First before the other guys say it
LOL...missed "it is what it is"

Yes!
@NetNarrator I thought it sounded familiar. Great work, man. I'm looking forward to the next book.
Say hello to my little friend.
Laughing so much
Ah yes, the hated subscription model.
But it looks to be a single source of collated and continuously updated reference material.
