I’m guessing this got pooched in editing, but you put a new spring on, and then talked about swapping out the isolators; one of which appears to have been reinstalled upside down.
I have been thinking about this one but I have questions: 1. Do I need to buy extended brake lines? 2. Dropped pitman arm? 3. Adjustable track bar? 4. Do you have trouble shifting after the lift? 5.. Anything else?
Extended brake lines are not needed but are recommended, especially if you plan on really flexing this out off-road. A dropped pitman arm is not needed. An adjustable track bar is always a good idea when lifting your Jeep over two inches, it will really help keep that front end planted and center the front axle. There should be no shifting after installation either. You can always add more to a lift kit, like adjustable control arms or a slip-yoke eliminator instead of the transfer case drop brackets, but they are not 100% needed. -Zach
Great video very detailed I know now one tool I need is a spring compressor, I'm doing a 3-in lift on a 97 TJ now and I've disconnected everything on the axle except for the control arms and the drive shaft and it still won't drop low enough to put the springs in I saw on one video where Ryan disconnected the drive shaft maybe that'll help if not looks like I'm for sure going to have to go spring compressor any suggestions
I'd highly recommend looking into a set of stock-length swaybar end links if you're looking in to putting your Wrangler back to stock after being lifted. -Zach
You'll definitely notice the added weight of larger tires when moving from 31s up to 33s. If you mainly use your Jeep for daily driving around town, you may not *need* to get it re-geared. But if you do a lot of highway driving or use your Jeep on the trails, re-gearing will absolutely help get some low-end torque back and have things feeling less sluggish. -Zach
It doesn't work out this easily. Many steps are missing. When you re-install the rear sway bar, the aftermarket bracket will not line up. You have put the wheels on and drop the weight of the vehicle on to the suspension to aid in the installation. I didn't mention the part where you need to hammer the shit out of everything to make it fit.
In 2003-2006 they switched from using the 2.5L inline-four to the 2.4L DOHC engine. Due to the varying weights of each engine, Rough Country made specific lift kits for each. Hope this clears things up! -Zach
ExtremeTerrain.com hey Zach, so you’re saying just the spring rates vary? Have you guys ever rated any of the springs? I’m currently binding a flex trailer for Jeep guys and crawlers to Dyno their vehicles on and set wheel loads, bumps and see when coils bind occurs.

Question. So if I decided to lower the TJ back to stock height. Would I need to replace the sway bar arms? Or would the rough country arms be ok?
