Pop Fun To Play Hi so I know you posted this a while ago but I bought a SDCC Robin from Stranger Things, and she has some extremely light very hard to notice scuffing would you mind giving me an idea of what I could use that wouldn’t be too abrasive please
Practice on some cheaper pops first until you feel confident in your polishing skills. Then its definitely worth sprucing up more expensive pops if their windows are scratched up.
Thanks for uploading. This was helpful. Now i know how to get rid of those scratches. I will have to try this on some of my boxes. I hate when stores put those big stickers on the boxes and plastic. They know people collect pops but they just dont care. Thanks again brother
You are welcome, I hope you will be able to clean up a few of your boxes easily. Yeah the big giant stickers really suck, the worst when they put them half on the cardboard half on the window and you end up damaging the art trying to remove them. I think the big retailers just see them as consumable toys and don't realize they are more collectible then plaything.
This was such a wonderful and informative video. So great to see the results. Everything showed definite improvement. I have quite a few pops that need some tlc like this. Thank you!

I think some of the pops would look even better with a little more effort but I wanted to get through as many as I could to kinda show different ways to work on the scratches as well as the different types of scratches. Sometimes for the very bad scratch stuff I will leave it out and work on it for a few minutes a day while watching youtube videos etc so that it does not seem like a huge choir but instead a little distraction for 5-10 minutes. With detailing cars(similar to what you’re doing) the level 3 will always leave a haze because it’s rougher which is why you use the finer one to get the shine back.
I'm a big fan of the Takara Tomy Pokemon Figures from the 90s and of course sometimes 30yr old sealed figures have plastic scratches. Can't wait to try some of this on one of those to see if I can clear them up
I have done so many times, there is a small chance that the plastic has a film on it that will wear away, if you want to test a spot on the side of the plastic with a qtip to be safe. But most likely you will be able to clean the plastic and make it look nice with rubbing alcohol.
I use lighter fluid to clean sticky residue on my Pops. I actually got some accidentally on the glow in the dark sticker on my Jollibee Pop making the edge of the sticker look wet/stained. After a little while it completely evaporates leaving no trace of it whatsoever on the sticker. I highly recommend lighter fluid.
I received a Masters of the Universe Club Greyskull figure from eBay and were dismayed when I received it that did not show in the photos on eBay. Although the scratches are not that many, there's more noticeable dull abrasive patches that makes it looks dull, it looks like the inside figure blister rubbed against the box's window inside over time and all the shipping and handeling between owners, is there any hope for completely removing these dull skuff patches?
Some stickers are made to come off more easily so start trying a little bit, if it seems stubborn like it would not peel then You can start using a blow dryer to warm up the adhesive until its easy to peel. But warming it up does sometimes make is so the adhesive leaves a sticky residue behind. If the cardboard is glossy then I usually use rubbing alcohol to remove the sticky residue. I also use the tap method of tapping the removed sticker a bunch of times on the remaining sticky part to try to remove a lot of the residue first. It takes practice but once you do it a few times you should be pretty good at removing the stickers. There are some cases though where removing the sticker will rip the box so sometimes its best to leave it be.
I usually heat up stickers with a low power hair dryer first, the glue from the sticker will the release from the surface easier, and without leaving too much residue behind.
If you are looking to remove sticky residue off the plastic window of the box, I just tried nail polish remover on a bot of toilet paper and microfiber cloth, it works a treat! Just don't press too hard on the plastic otherwise it'll bend and crease.
I’ve been collecting toys for over 25yrs. The best residue and general cleaner that won’t leave a trace is Ronsonol Lighter fluid. It’s petroleum based and won’t leave a residue like goo gone. Action figure restorers and customizers use lighter fluid to remove card bubbles from the cards and reseal them later on.
I just recently got a Jem Doll from 1985 in box. it almost came in pristine condition except it got a bubble pop mark in the plastic right in front of her face that looks white. Is there a way to fix these without opening the box? I pushed the bubble in and it looks better but it's still white and dented.
Well a few things you can carefully open the box without damaging it. But if its a little dent in the edge of the plastic etc I have heard that heat can reset the plastic. I would research that a little to see if that would work.
@@popfuntoplay Thank u i tried it a few days ago, 90% of the ini came out but a thin blue outline still remains gonna try to clean with alcohol a bit more.
Hey! Lovely informative video! I collect Pop Up Parades and their boxes are quite different to Pop! boxes. Do you think that scratch remover stuff would work on them? Cheers man.
If its just dusty, use a swiffer, or even just a paper towel to remove most of the dust. The use a very lightly damp paper towel to whipe the top then dry it quickly. Try to avoid anything with chemicals on the box if you can, it sometimes damages the box.
Sounds like it might be foxing, at that point they are kinda hard to get rid of. I am not sure there is a safe way to do so. If you can keep them in a space with a dehumidifier that keeps humidity around 40% it should keep them from getting worse.
@@popfuntoplay hi tnx for ur reply.. I tried to experiment using alcohol but after a few swipes on the affected area the box color slightly faded but those yellow thingy are still there. I just stopped after that. U mean if have these already then there is a possibility that it will spread to other parts of the box? Tnx for ur reply.. Really informative.. And great videos.. Do u also ship internationally? To singapore?
I have a small ding that pops out like pimple from the plastic it was made doing loose in the box in transit - Can this small circular ding be fixed at all?
I usually use goo-gone to remove stickers and clean up the residue. If i want to take a sticker off and its stubborn, i put some goo-gone on a cloth and dab at the sticker so it gets wet and let it sit for a few minutes. That loosens the glue and makes peeling much easier. I'm guessing you could do the same with the rubbing alcohol you use. I'm wondering if using some kind of attachment with a drill would speed up the process of buffing out scratches. You wouldn't want to go too fast as that would probably cause damage, but its an idea.
@@popfuntoplay Yeah i got some today to experiment. It might be worth putting some alcohol onto the tip of a cloth and then dabbing the sticker to make it easier to pull off. You won't struggle as much with those stubborn stickers. Hopefully that part works just as well as goo-gone.
What’s the best way to clean an exclusive? I have a Thor fye exclusive that I want to clean but I don’t want to ruin the sticker off also is there a way to clean the cardboard box?
Start with some rubbing alcohol it should clean off any residue on the plastic. Just be careful around the sticker. As for the box it self really depends. If its just dust dirt you can use a lightly damp cloth to clean then dry immediately. Don't use the rubbing alcohol on the cardboard, it can damage the printed part.
@@popfuntoplay do clorox wipes work well on the cardboard? I'm in a very weird predicament where more than 20+ pops are covered in dust and I'm taking every precaution to not ruin them
No avoid chemicals like that, it can stain the box etc. First use swiffers if you can, they will remove a ton of loose dust. If its kinda caked on you might want to get an Absorene dirt eraser, here is a link amzn.to/2CENmnB. I sometimes use a very lightly damp paper towel to clean surfaces but you need to try it fast after you wet the cardboard etc.
Does anyone know if Cellulose Fiber would work? It says it’s 60% Wool, 40% Acrylic. I have a drill that can work with it but I don’t know if the wool would be too abrasive. It. Does look soft
I have a question. I just bought a set of two Walking Dead figures. Not Funko Pops. There was a large paper inventory sticker on the front plastic panel of the box I got it off. Unfortunately in pieces but I got it off. It left a good deal of residue from the glue. I usually use Goo Gone to take it off. It's a citrus oil cleaner. This time though most of it came off there's a stubborn bit that just smears and refuses to completely come off. I can't press too hard or I'll damage the figures and I don't want the panel to look cloudy. What can I try that won't damage the plastic or the box? Thanks!
@@popfuntoplay I'm sorry I thought I posted this yesterday. Yes I tried the goo gone again but with a cleaning rag instead of a paper towel. Cleared right up. Thanks. Later.
I wish I can add a picture but I can't I recently bought the Queen anna doll and I seen something on the plastic cover so I used the green side of the sponge which i didn't realize until it was to late and now I have micro Scratches on the front of the plastic will this work
I’m trying to make my stranger things Steve baskin Robbins exclusive funko pop cleaned. It has a few scratches and it is kind of dirty. Would you recommend the cleaner on amazon? I don’t want any resudo left on it or anything like that, I can’t afford to buy a new one, and it’s my favorite pop.
When you use the higher number polishes they are more abrasive. You use that level to polish down the deeper scratches. Then you step down a level to remove the micro scratches left from the polish. As I said in the other comment, practice on something cheaper until you feel comfortable with the results.
@@popfuntoplay That’s prolly what is going on. Using #3 on practice stuff that’s not scratched to see the results so it’s scratching it up cuz every material I use is leaving swirl marks so has to be too abrasive. Thank you for the quick reply. Been really frustrating
I recently bought a collection from someone and examing the boxes there seems to be a lot of dust, mold and I'm pretty sure there are bug droppings on them is there anyway I can clean these boxes since I want them to be sold preferably a way to wash off all the gunk and crap on them.
Yikes that is kinda gross. I would vacuum the dust and loose gunk first so you dont rub that all around then get a damp cloth and a dry cloth and just clean them with the damp cloth then dry immediately. Practice on the cheaper ones first so you get use to how much dampness you can use without saturating the boxes etcc.
Hello, I want to ask do you have any way to fix the bubble head? I mean sometimes the spring is too long/too short/not in the right position of the pop. This bothers me a lot :(
I have that problem too, you can twist the spring on the neck peg which can fix it a little sometimes, but certain pops it just kinda sucks. What I usually do is get a needle nose pliers and push the spring from the end of the spring at the base of the neck it so it rotates into a better height or position.
I got terminator little scratch on the actual figure. Thing with amazon you can't look at Bix before you buy. In a store you could probably even open and look at it first.
Yeah and online shipping can be terrible too, if you order the wrong thing with the pop on amazon it can crush the box etc. Only problem with stores is people damage them while looking through the shelves so sometimes its easier to get a case fresh pop ordering online vs store.
If its just dusty I would use a swiffer, if its a bit of a caked on dirt a lightly damp cloth to wipe it away and then a dry cloth to dry quickly should work If its more of a stain you might not be able to remove it.
I feel there has to be a way to press them or iron them out similar to comic book pressing, but I have not experimented with that yet. Look up comic book pressing it may give you a few ideas.
For very light glue on the vinyl and not the paint finisher I had some luck with a magic eraser. Rubbing alcohol sometimes works as well. If they glue is on top of paint, you might wear away the paint some. I would get a q-tip and some rubbing alcohol to see if you can dissolve and remove some of the glue.
thank you soooo much for the tip! i read someone also saying heat it up with a blow dryer? i got so much glue on my WITCH POP that it is not even funny. a lot of glue on her nose, eyes, everywhere. i am almost buying a new one but here in brazil they are expensive, 50 US dollars each. thank you anyway.
And then those boxes I buy in shop have the tips of the lashes ripped off... but what´s the best polished box if the general paintjobs on funkos are Cr*p
Hi, my name is Al from Al’s Toy Barn and I’ve been collecting some cowboy figures and recently I got a Woody toy and I ripped the arm off accidentally. Please come and repair my doll. -Sincerely, a fictional character from Toy Story 2
Thanks it worked it gave it a smooth service but it still left that one semi long crease that won't just go after ironing. it's better then what it was.
Try a magic eraser, use light pressure though don't go too crazy because you can damage the box but you should be able to remove some of the dirt spots.
What are the chances of this fully removing scuffs from a import figure box? I just received my grail in the mail and they didn't separate the boxes (full plastic) so those two sides kind of just grinded together the entire trip as they got banged around. It left a lot of rough feeling scuffs and tons of scratches. None of them feel deep since my fingernail doesn't go inside them or anything. But they are super ugly and definitely don't feel smooth to the touch like the undamaged parts of the box. I don't even understand how two smooth surfaces can damage each other so badly just by rubbing during shipping. Just curious from your own experience before I invest in trying to fix it. Thanks.
Most likely there was some dust and the plastics turned the dust into a light sandpaper. I think there is a great chance you can clean up the plastic with polish. I would practice on a cheaper figure first just so you feel comfortable doing it.
If you are talking about paint transfer such as when a nose or part of the pop leaves a trail of paint on the window? That comes off pretty easily with 90% rubbing alcohol.
Thanks dude, I jus received Flocked Ghost and I also see residue in between his eyes. It sucks because I paid over $100 for him only to have imperfections
Oh yeah mean on the pop itself, what I use is a magic eraser if the mark is directly on the vinyl surface and not on the paint. If its glue residue, you can use rubbing alcohol carefully to remove it.
Great video, thanks for the ideas! I just received several Hikari Predator, the boxes were great but the plastic was scuffed bad. First thing I thought was about dvd scratch remover. I decided to search and came across your video. You gave me an idea with the scratch remover stuff. I had son Mequiars ultimate compound (I'm not a spokesperson for them, it's just what I had in my garage) they also have an ultimate polish which is for finer scratches. but I grab that tested it on a small section with an old sock and it really got out the scratches on the plastic very well. Something you might want to consider trying yourself. I'm sure any compound or car paint scratch remover might work really well. I was very surprised with how well these things turned out. What went from unpresentable to presentable! if I had a way to upload or an attach a picture of the before and after to this comment I would but I can't. Thanks for the video and ideas!
@@popfuntoplay have you ever tried to replace/repair plastic windows that have bends or creases? Also, would you mind if I post a link in my comment here to a videoi made cleaning the scuffs off the window of my Hikari with a Dremel and a buffing pad?
@@robh5416 sure link the video. I have not replaced windows but I know a few people who have. If its like other collectibles though down the road that will be consider restoration and will probably lower the value of the pops long term.
@@popfuntoplay ok thank you! And yes, that is definitely something to consider. I'm unfortunately very picky and even though the figure is mint, and the majority of the cardboard is in excellent condition, the windows were horrible. I purchased these from Gemini. I purchased from them in the past and have never had an issue. I was just very surprised and I guess I should have figured when these were on sale that they're near the bottom of the barrel. Polishing the plastic work perfect for getting the majority of the scuffs out, however there were some dings increases that just stand out to me. I'll add that video soon as it finishes uploading. Thank you!
I accidentally pressed on the box of my pop which doesnt have a pop protector. Now the plastic have folded marks. Do you know if there is a remedy for this?
Your best hope for a "fold" in the plastic is heat CAREFULLY applied to the area (but not for long). A heat gun (from a shrink wrap machine) works best; don't know if you can get a blow drier to work, but its worth a try. REMEMBER: if you hold it too long in one spot, the plastic "tightens" and warps.
I have not used a wool cloth but I think that would be more abrasive. Use the micro fiber cloth. When you use the higher level polish it will leave micro scratches, that level is used to polish down the deeper scratches. Then you use the lower number polish to polish away the micro scratches. You might need to practice on some cheaper plastic boxes until you get the results you want. I would not start on an expensive pop. It takes some elbow grease to polish them nicely
I usually use a piece of tape and try to tap the residue to pull it off. That works about 80% of the time, if its still too stubborn I sometimes use rubbing alcohol but that can sometimes damage the ink. You have to be careful and may take some practice.
If you mean on the cardboard itself, that I am not sure about. If its paint transfer to the window from a pops head rubbing on the plastic etc you can remove that from the box window with rubbing alcohol.
That is a shame. If the plastic is good but its been detached from the box you can use an archival glue to glue it back to the side. If the plastic is self is dented and damaged there is not much you can do with that.
Yeah its part of the problem with mail order you never know if they can ship something safely. Goodluck I hope you get a minty fresh one. Your welcome and thank you, I am happy you enjoy.
Awww man. Do you know if Funko sells replacement boxes? I bought a $1k pop. Collecting it tmr, but there are quite a bit of brown spots on the white area. Was thinking of using a cotton swab, dabbing it in correction fluid and then dabbing it gently on the white area. You happen to know any workaround to make it less unsightly?
Sounds like the box might have foxing on it, trying to restore it might actually damage the box and drop the value down a ton. Which pop was it? With the amount of fakes etc going around, I would stick with the original box with the dots, a replacement box might not have all the same stickers especially the date sticker or stamp on the bottom. In the long run a replacement box might look better but it will be worth less. Funko does not sell replacements.
What I would do is get an original regular spider man box, get a fake sticker for it and display him in that box since it will look like a match then keep the original real box stored safely flat somewhere so you can display the pop and enjoy it but preserve its potential value if you ever have to sell it by putting him back into the original box. Just try to avoid altering the original box, it may end up costing you $100s if you damage it etc.
Well, my idiotic self accidentally got goo gone on the box so there's like an oil looking mark about an inch wide because it absorbed it...Any ideas? Doubt it is fixable and I don't even think paint would work because it'd be near impossible to match colors
I hate goo gone because it can stain cardboard, I use rubbing alcohol for removing residue because it evaporates. You might be able to use rubbing alcohol to try to dilute the spot and remove some of the grease from the cardboard. Not 100% sure it would work but turn the box so the plastic window is below the stain so the alcohol drips down away from the card board then apply some to the area trying to dilute the grease and then whip off after 20-30 seconds. If you repeat that process a bunch of times it might dilute the stain but I am not 100% sure. See if you think its working at all after 2-3 tries
Update: I couldn't find any rubbing alcohol, but I used acetone. I let it the box absorb it the way it absorbed goo gone and it's almost invisible, thankfully! I really appreciate the support!
Sweet, that is what I thought might happen. I am happy to hear it worked pretty well. Its also good to know that may be a good way to lower grease stains on paper. I may have to give it a try.
Thanks for answering back so quick. I have a black paint scuff on the front window on the inside of the box. Would rubbing alcohol take care of that without leaving damage to the plastic???
Yes if there is a paint transfer from the figure to the box inside the box rubbing alcohol will take care of that, it might take a little bit before you notice results but keep rubbing and after 30 second to a minute it will wipe off.
I had a bit of luck with Colgate toothpaste and an old toothbrush. I use Radio Shack's electronic cleaner (the small spray bottle with the brush attached) to clean off all the residue, although you can use a wet cloth (just takes longer).
Interesting, so the toothpaste just cleans residue or does it polishes it a little? Not sure if it would work better then rubbing alcohol but I will have to give that a try.
So toothpaste is an old finescale car modeling trick to buff paint into a high gloss. Basically the same way it cleans your teeth buffs out scratches and polishes paint and plastic.
Pops are a ton of fun to collect and relatively inexpensive as long as you don't go crazy paying second hand prices. I am not sure the count but I think I have at least 1000 Pops. I really need to set up a full display and do a full collection tour.
Have you noticed any issues about getting Funko Pops autographed after treating the windows scratches with this method? I have a few pops I'd like to get autographed but their windows are scratched up.
take a pop and autograph it yourself after you clean the window to see if you are happy with the results. You can clean the ink off with rubbing alcohol afterwords. It should be fine though.
OMG, I saw this last night and thought it’d be perfect to make my recently purchased Ghostbusters Plasma Series boxes museum-worthy, so I went to AutoZone and got a scratch remover, but unfortunately instead of removing the scratches, I ended up leaving my first attempt opaque and far from the desired effect. Best to try on something you don’t care much about before working on your prized possessions. 😢
Sounds like you used the more abrasive level polish. They come in different levels, the one you used was most likely to grind down a deeper scratch, you need the finer levels to then polish out the opaque level etc.
I usually use rubbing alcohol to remove it from the window. Sometimes you need something a little stronger like nail polish remover but rubbing alcohol works most of the time.
Pop Fun To Play Oh I just throw them away xD I know some people use the boxes because it's easy to stack and display or to keep the value with some exclusive pops.. but for me the box is nothing but a piece of cardboard and plastic keeping me away from the real stuff😊
Dennis de Jong I know they dont mean much to you. But you should REALLLY consider selling your empty boxes...so many times I wish I could find people like you for specific pops lmao
I NEED HELP! I've just noticed that quite a few of the windows in my Funko Pop boxes no longer have a straight edge. Theyre actually rounded out and have lost the straight edge. Almost like the corners of the windows have bubbled out. What causes this and can it be fixed without doing a window swap?
Send me some pictures on IG. I think it just might be the plastic reverting to its original shape a little, a lot of the boxes they barely bent the plastic when placing into the box. Window swap I think would more likely look worse and be bad for their value.
There is probably a way to press the boxes similarly how people press comic books. It would involve a a dry mount press, a bit of steam etc to make the cardboard more playable. The poor mans way would be to use a iron etc. I really want to practice working on the boxes myself, but I want to get a press first. Look up comic pressing and you might get a few tips that would help.
Of course, I have a few of my sons beat up boxes that I will practice on when the time comes and I can afford the press etc. My biggest concern is how the plastic windows will react to the heat etc so it will be a lot of experimenting to figure it all out.
In other words..collectors are crazy. I collect but I’ve met people that want their boxes “perfect “ and I just think that’s a little too much expectation
For some they only think about the Monetary value so yes they want perfect boxes because they think it will be worth the most in the future. For me I want to enjoy my collection so the value I can get out of my collection by using it and enjoying it means more to me then the cash value. So yes I do like boxes that look nice so I can enjoy them on display etc but I also take my pops out of the box to make videos and take pictures so the boxes do sometimes get a little worn in the process. But overall I am getting so much more value out of them by enjoying them. So yes when I buy them I want perfect boxes, but if I can get one cheaper because they box is a bit damaged I go for that as well since it means I can get more pops for my money and more use and fun out of owning them.
Pop Fun To Play I get that but I had a customer who made me cringe because he cancelled buying because of one slight creasing by the hook of a collectible I have. Mind blown.

Hey man any advice for Tape/Sticker Residue on the actual box not the pop window?
Alright i'll definitely will give it another go, thanks for replying so quickly!!

Nice I will have to give it a try. I hate goo gone its too messy .

Is there a way to fix these without opening the box? I pushed the bubble in and it looks better but it's still white and dented.
I am watching for a different type of box. Do you know how to clean the cardboard
What do you recommend for NECA clam shells? Gears of War action figures for example.
If you mean to remove scratches it should be the same process.
Do you know how pop out dent on the plastic without opening the box?
Well a few things you can carefully open the box without damaging it. But if its a little dent in the edge of the plastic etc I have heard that heat can reset the plastic. I would research that a little to see if that would work.
@@popfuntoplay thank you I'm a collector and don't open the boxes and have a dent right in the top right corner which really annoys me lol
Hi there any suggestions how to clean a funko pop box with a blue ballpoint pen mark on the side of the box on the white area?
Try rubbing alcohol and a q tip you might be able to get a little bit of it off.

Hey! Lovely informative video! I collect Pop Up Parades and their boxes are quite different to Pop! boxes. Do you think that scratch remover stuff would work on them? Cheers man.
I have reduced or removed scratches from other types of plastic windows. I think there is a chance it would work.
@@popfuntoplay Sounds good! I'll give it a go. Thanks bro.

If its just dusty, use a swiffer, or even just a paper towel to remove most of the dust. The use a very lightly damp paper towel to whipe the top then dry it quickly. Try to avoid anything with chemicals on the box if you can, it sometimes damages the box.
@@popfuntoplay thank you so much man appreciate the info
Hi, how do you restore dented/creased/battered plastic sheet on the toy boxes?
I hear somewhere a little bit of heat can help minor dents, not sure about major ones though. I have not experimented with it yet.
I agree..I have some crease wrinkle dents on some of my boxes.
Hi, have u tried to clean like those yellow stains on the box?
Seems like due to humid condition that these yello spots started appearing. Tnx
Yes if they stay in the humidity the foxing will spread with time.
I have a small ding that pops out like pimple from the plastic it was made doing loose in the box in transit - Can this small circular ding be fixed at all?
I am not 100% sure it works but I heard applying heat to plastic sometimes restores it a little.
I prefer rubbing alcohol since it helps remove the sticker residue without making it extra gooey
Get a random piece of clear plastic, see if you can polish that with it. Test it out to see if it is too abrasive or works great.
Thanks!
I use rubbing alcohol, it deals with the glue better then goo gone in my oppinion.

Yes it will take some time to buff out the scratches but it should work.
If the pop itself is dirty you can use a magic eraser.
So what should I do for cleaning the cardboard
How is it dirty? cleaning the box itself can be tough
Are the cloths that come with the Amazon kit no good? I used them and seemed like they left scratches behind
Hello it may sound funny but can i use it with my album box? It has lot of scratches
If the box is plastic you should be able to polish it up a bit.
You can use rubbing alcohol on the plastic part to clean the window. Dont use it onthe cardboard though it will bleed the ink.
Does this work for dings on the window?
Ding need heat applied, not too much heat though. I have some ideas of how to fix dings but I have not fully figured it out yet.
@@popfuntoplay have a couple dings on a signed pop so idk how to carefully get the dings out

How do you remove paint from that plastic? I had one signed with paint pen. But id like to remove the signature
I have had luck removing paint pen off the windows using rubbing alcohol.
Any suggestion on how to clean a little dirt on a old pop? My sloth has some dirt stains on top and I want to try and clean but I’m scared 😟
On the box or the pop itself?
On the box
If its just dusty I would use a swiffer, if its a bit of a caked on dirt a lightly damp cloth to wipe it away and then a dry cloth to dry quickly should work If its more of a stain you might not be able to remove it.
Hi have you any advice on dents on the pop boxes
I feel there has to be a way to press them or iron them out similar to comic book pressing, but I have not experimented with that yet. Look up comic book pressing it may give you a few ideas.
Pop Fun To Play ok, thanks for the reply 👍
QUESTION PLEASE: how to remove the GLUE residue on the pops themselves? some have glue on their faces, etc. any ideas? thanks.
Good luck, I hope you can clean her up pretty well.
EB Games in Australia sell their's pre-scuffed down the plastic corner. Maybe they should include a plastic repair kit?
Yeah that plastic gets shelf wear really easy. I Kinda wish Funko sold each one already in a pop protector.
They sell scratch removal wax for like $5-7 at stores... Might give them a try too.
Let me know if that works on the plastic.
Does it dry enough to get autos on them.
sure once your done cleaning and all that it will be fully dry because you dont leave anything on the plastic.
And then those boxes I buy in shop have the tips of the lashes ripped off...
but what´s the best polished box if the general paintjobs on funkos are Cr*p
Yeah I tend to look for the best paint job on the figure first then box condition second.
Is there a way to repair scratches on the non-plastic part of the box? I have a few scratches on the box.
On the printed part not really. You can use a Absorborene dirt eraser to remove a little bit of scruffiness if its from dust and dirt etc.
How would you be able to get dirt and stains off from the bottom of a Funko pop box?
I have not really started conserving boxes themselves but I am sure there is ways to clean them but might take alot of expertise to get it right.
Do you think nail polish remover will work for shelf scratchers on the plastic?
It would not work on the scratch but it should help remove residue.

Can we use this method to remove the paint from the pop that’s within the box ?
If you are talking about paint transfer such as when a nose or part of the pop leaves a trail of paint on the window? That comes off pretty easily with 90% rubbing alcohol.
Thanks dude, I jus received Flocked Ghost and I also see residue in between his eyes. It sucks because I paid over $100 for him only to have imperfections
Oh yeah mean on the pop itself, what I use is a magic eraser if the mark is directly on the vinyl surface and not on the paint. If its glue residue, you can use rubbing alcohol carefully to remove it.
On flocking though I am not sure what you can do without destroying the flocking.
What about very yellow tint plastic insider pop ?
There are some things people use to treat yellowed plastic but not sure how long it keeps it from reyellowing.

I believe that is damage that cannot be repaired. If it was a cheap pop you can probably replace it and sell the damaged box version.
Use a blower more easy it Will repair belive my
Pops with little scratches on their boxes are considered Mint conditions?
I think very minor marks can be Near Mint. Most have something on them even when they are brand new.
Any tips on how to repair splits in the plastic?
If the plastic is actually cracked you might be out of luck. I have not seen a way to re bond the plastic.
@@popfuntoplay

Everything I use is leaving behind swirl marks. The provided towels, microfiber cloths and even a wool cloth
Got a way to fix scuff marks on boxes themselves?
Most likely not, any damage to the printing is going to be permanent damage.
Hey i found you on whatnot! So cool didnt know you had a channel
Oh yeah I have been here for a long time, just stated Whatnot in the middle of Nov.
How can you safely remove sticker residue from the box itself?
I usually use a piece of tape and try to tap the residue to pull it off. That works about 80% of the time, if its still too stubborn I sometimes use rubbing alcohol but that can sometimes damage the ink. You have to be careful and may take some practice.
Lighter fluid doesn’t damage the packaging evaporates quickly there are some tutorials
Awesome, but how can I remove those yellow stains in the box?
If you mean on the cardboard itself, that I am not sure about. If its paint transfer to the window from a pops head rubbing on the plastic etc you can remove that from the box window with rubbing alcohol.

Is there a way to clean brown spots on the box?
Stains on the cardboard itself are hard or even impossible to remove without damaging the box.
Pop Fun To Play ahh I see. It’s Spider-Man 03 metallic
Pop Fun To Play I'll give it a go! Live and learn. Glad I found your videos though!
Good luck I hope you can at least make it a little less noticeable
Update: I couldn't find any rubbing alcohol, but I used acetone. I let it the box absorb it the way it absorbed goo gone and it's almost invisible, thankfully! I really appreciate the support!
Sweet, that is what I thought might happen. I am happy to hear it worked pretty well. Its also good to know that may be a good way to lower grease stains on paper. I may have to give it a try.

Does rubbing alcohol work. Please respond back. I need help and rubbing alcohol is all I have
Rubbing alcohol will clean residue etc but not polish out scratches.
Thanks for the advice. It worked like a charm. Love your channel. Keep up the great uploads!!!
The toothpaste polishes, but it leaves a bit of residue that must be removed. I use electronics cleaner, but alcohol or water works just fine.
So toothpaste is an old finescale car modeling trick to buff paint into a high gloss. Basically the same way it cleans your teeth buffs out scratches and polishes paint and plastic.
THE POPS ARE SO CUTE THINKING ABOUT COLLECTING THEM MYSELF, I COLLECT BARBIE DOLLS. HOW MANY POPS DO YOU HAVE , I AM GUESSING ABOUT 300 HUNDRED.

@@popfuntoplay I was actually talking about doing that a little while ago haha.
How do you fix a scratch on the artwork of the box
On the cardboard part I do not think that is possible
@@popfuntoplay I’ll give it another go with a similar plastic to get the knack of it. Thank you so much for sharing!
How can I remove paint mark on the window of the Funko pop
I usually use rubbing alcohol to remove it from the window. Sometimes you need something a little stronger like nail polish remover but rubbing alcohol works most of the time.
I keep them out of the box. Saving space
They display well out of the box as well. You can probably trade or sell your boxes if you are getting rid of them for other pops.

Toothpaste, it polishes your teeth , plastic and paint.
I saw another video used a baking soda and water mixture.
Anybody know how to get the crease of the box?
There is probably a way to press the boxes similarly how people press comic books. It would involve a a dry mount press, a bit of steam etc to make the cardboard more playable. The poor mans way would be to use a iron etc. I really want to practice working on the boxes myself, but I want to get a press first. Look up comic pressing and you might get a few tips that would help.
Pop Fun To Play thank you Bro! Also by any chance if you do accomplish this you should make a video about it.
Of course, I have a few of my sons beat up boxes that I will practice on when the time comes and I can afford the press etc. My biggest concern is how the plastic windows will react to the heat etc so it will be a lot of experimenting to figure it all out.
Pop Fun To Play maybe with the ironer it'll be some Where to start, you can deffently avoid the plastic.
