Rick - this was a really great chat - I would love to watch and learn from you all doing and teaching the breath work. I’d be very interested in learning more about the mechanics of breathing a bit more. On that note, it would be great to see in a roll how to practically implement the conscious breathing. This was great. Thanks. And breathing kinda is a reason why my BJJ sucks!
I have s*** cardio like when it comes to running or athletics like I have to work on my cardio but I wouldn't say that I've ever had problems breathing or it making me sick so that didn't make any sense to me
Poor breathing can be one of the causes of poor general health for a variety of reasons. Luckily, it is very easy to fix. You say you have bad cardio but... breathing might be the key.
I was hoping for some practical knowledge instead of just a sales pitch! I’m fairly old and actually feel that I do this well. I’m not what you would call explosive by any stretch, but I can stay on the mats all day as long as I can hydrate.
Thanks, we need some real practical advice, there are some hints in this video, but nothing that really answers the question: what do I do now? And it's pretty much always the same whenever we talk about breathing in bjj.
That's a great book. Even better is the single page index with all the sources for the book Nestor has on his site. You can deep dive into all the topics.

Perfect! That's exactly what's coming. You'll learn how to breathe for different scenarios, positions, and situations specific to rolling.
Where is the course going to be? On this channel for free?

There is a proper way to breathe for every sport, and that is key for cardio.
This is why I'm usually one of the last ones on the mats.
I have been doing DDPY since 2012 and my cardio is on point and i feel decently strong. 😅 So in my case yoga works for cardio.
I heard that’s a great program
As a 54 yo, I'm very interested!
Much respect! Let's help each other stay on the mats for life.

@@AntoineFabri the course will be out soon, sir! Stay tuned.

No, it sucks because I'm not good at jiu jitsu.
Have you experienced that???
