    One of the great political characters of any era. Even if you didn't like the poltiics, Prescott was never anything less than likeable.

    Truly a man of his time. Honest and committed to his beliefs, a great shame Labour now have no one with such honesty amongst this shower of so called representatives.

    As Labour politicians go, at least he was more trustworthy than most modern day politicians.
    The best Labour politician and man of principles in the last 50 years was Jack Straw, bar none. John Smith was a close second.
