It's a miracle that it moves the air in the right direction, and it works. If I manage to get one of these, I'd probably use it on low speed: it's relatively quiet and helps to remove warm air from the console (the console doesn't have bad cooling by default, it's just an extra). And remember: the lifespan of electronic components is shorter the warmer the environment you keep them in. Every degree counts!

Yup like I like it cold and home is always like 60 degrees and with the room being cool it pulls in the cool air threw the front and helps keep everything nice cool 😎

    Hello fellow ps5 gamers lol
So I too have a ps5 and I was worried about the temperature of my system and didn’t want anything to happen to it. So this is what I did and what I bought and so far the results absolutely speak for themselves!!! I too felt my console with my hand and noticed the same temperatures shown on that red/blue diagram he showed in the video. So I went on Amazon and bought a couple of “accessories” to help with the temperature distribution. I bought side panels that had vents directly in front of the fans of the ps5 as well as an external cooling fan attachment. Now the first thing to make sure of when buying a cooling fan attachment is to buy one that sucks the hot air OUT, instead of blowing air into the system. I normally have my console standing upright and in a well ventilated spot(enough room for air to move out, up and away from the system). Once I attached both “accessories” I got my wife’s temperature gun we use for the kids and when I scanned the ps5 before and after I made the changes I saw a difference of 3-5 degrees! The system was successfully running cooler than it was previously!

I have a similar fan and from my touch, it has worked. Without the fan the console was way warmer around the hdmi and ac plug bs when using the fan. I say it helps somewhat as long as it’s blowing the right direction of course lol

I think the question I would be asking myself is “How often/long do I play?” Vs “How much does the noise affect my gaming experience?”
I could see if the PS5 was your main console and you might want to give yourself a little extra piece of mind…. Why not. They are pretty cheap and most of us play our games louder than the fan would ever run or have headsets on.
For myself, since we have and run so many different consoles it probably wouldn’t be something for us. Also if I was a streamer, it would be a no because of the fan noise.
Interesting product all the same and it’s never a bad thing to offer the consumer choices.

    • @ChronikSpartan

Yeah definitely good points, especially about the streaming. I was streaming a couple years ago on my dusty PS4 with the fans working overtime. It sounded like a bloody jet taking off in the stream 🤣

Noise is no concern as long as my ps5 is cooling better, worth every penny. Those little fans move some air, I'm happy with it. Would recommend. Also I went with the black sides panel with the fan hole cut out of them for more airflow through it.

As noise is a concern to me, how is the heat drawing performance at Slow? Is this a hindrance or performance benefit to add if planning to run at the slow speed on a PS5? Has anyone measure the heat without the fan, and then compared to the PS5 temperature at Slow vs High? These reviews are truly helpful with temperature data, and not just the feeling in my hand (or seat of my pants) beliefs.

Warning, I bought this fan, as well as a side panel fan. Both very loud, both at first glance appeared to work. BUT the back fan has the fans blowing in instead of out which means it's pushing heat in. The panel fan does work but is crazy loud. Next I bought the stand. I like the stand as a stand. Fan system does nothing due to no where for the hot air to go. I based my test off of 3 6hr PS5 sessions played Madden H2H. Even with all three attached fans it could Toast bread.
So solution. A. Do a thorough cleaning of the inside of your PS5. Use a vacuum, small soft brush, and canned air. 1st use brush gently on fan, heat sync and well everywhere. 2nd use canned air to continue knocking loose dust particles. Lastly w your vacuum suck out as much of the loose dust etc.
    B. Replace the fan. Infact replace it once a year. $30 US on Amazon. Very easy to install. Comes w the screw driver you need. Additionally you'll need a small set of Tweezers to remove safely.
In closing, skip all after-market attactable fans, and simply replace the actual fan after cleaning.

Far and wide every PS5 cooling fan that I have seen tested or reviewed by professional testers has shown either no difference to thermals or worsening performance. This is the only cooling system that I have a ? mark next too. Good reviews on Amazon. Gamers Nexus had reviewed an almost identical fan that made the PS5 hotter because the fans where actually pointed in the wrong way. As a PC builder, this really ticked me off. This one however looks to be working correctly. Does that product mention how many RPMS the fans have or wattage required for operation? Does the speed remain constant or variable?
I really appreciate the honest review, however simply applying human touch does not give us an accurate accounting of what is happening internally to the unit. But it's better than nothing. I have not personally had overheating issues yet with my console but as time passes thermal issues will be a concern. Currently this is the only product I am even considering. I would have loved a thermal analysis of this and I'm hoping to see more reviews of this product. Hopefully we can get some more conclusive results. Of course we also have to consider other factors like power draw and internal stress testing, which is going to require some sophisticated equipment for proper analysis, so we can come to definitive conclusions regarding effectiveness.
Still, this seems to currently be the best, and perhaps only viable option on the market for people seeking solutions to PS5 thermal issues. Thanks for taking the time to make this review. Class video mate.

You shouldnt keep the PS5 where its at right now it should be in a open space where it can properly ventilate. Like why are you wondering why its hot? The heat has nowhere to go

I'm not wondering why it's hot, I'm just testing the fan. You're right about placement though 😉
