That had me chuckling. Assuming the top box are the 770's, they are around the same price and similar size of the FR5's. Maybe their in house shop sells more that just own brands? or lets people do some A/B testing.
Paul, your sitting next to the Mission 770's I traded in for my FR20's . . . too funny!. I LOVE my FR20's!!! Never had a speaker that utterly disappeared and allowed me to just hear the music. Thank you!
They are 4999 € in my country (EU) +800€ matching stands. What a price difference compared to U.S., Canada and UK. No way that shipping costs are that big. Guess dealer is greedy. Great job, Paul. Love your videos, party on. 3:35
Love this speaker Paul and your channel in general. The design somehow just hits that balance that’s so rare. If I didn’t have my ART floorstanders, this would be on my audition list.
Chris was wrong on the plane. I was there, I heard them. I was blown away at the sound that little speaker could do in that room and I never got anywhere near the sweet spot. The point about the electronics possibly doing the heave lifting, There is not a chance in hell that in a room like that that a crappy speaker could be overcome by electrons. I has to be good to begin with and the line of Aspens are!
That FR5 is competing in a gladiator arena with great warriors like the MoFi SourcePoint 8, KEF LS50 Meta, GoldenEar BRX and Dynaudio Focus 10. Good Luck!
I've not heard them in person, but 35Hz to beyond 20kHz is impressive for such little speakers. It would be cool to get a longer video of the technology and design in these speakers.
I was at that axpona show this year. The fr 10s and fr 5s were amazing. Didnt get to hear the large towers. I wanted to bother Paul and demand to know where the subwoofer was lol. So much good bass from the small speakers i got to hear. Dynamics yes of course. But the bass really floored me
🖤I don't doubt for a minute the FR5 performs as advertised.. why should it not? There's a hell of a lot of competition in this arena, so serious contenders are just that.. ♣I do wonder about the 30/35Hz bottom end in a 6.5" 2-way stand mount though.. I know that's measured but how is it aurally perceived & at what level of vol.. 🤔Guess I'll have to find out someday..
Aspen FR5 Speakers is one of Best Speakers in the World. And my dream also listen music with Aspen FR5 Speakers in my Room...But i don't know this dream when fullfill...
My iPhone two little stereo speakers fill a LARGE room 25 X 15 feet enough for me to hear music clearly anywhere in the room. I play easy listening type music and gentle vocals. I listen to these stories people email in on this site. The vast majority of the emails are from people that always have problems with their audio system. Some of the components/systems they write in about are EXPENSIVE. I get the impression these people can screw up single 4 inch speaker am fm radio.
🖤Q: why do I see a (slightly disturbing) trend towards 'fullish' frequency 2-ways when traditionally it was accepted that a mid-range cannot share both bass and mid duties without compromising one or the other and also causing upper frequency cohesion difficulties.. I'm satisfied with vocal repro if a 2-way speaker doesn't extend much more than 80Hz - 15KHz -20KHz.. I'm of a mind that by not stretching the bandwidth too far, the targeted sonics present with greater timbral accuracy.. I'm also aware that manufacturers attempt to cover a wide range of genres but with the inherent compromises, wouldn't that bring us down below hi-end..?🤔
These speakers seems awesome especially with a subwoofer and I have a room perfect for them. What is the best subwoofer matching them? For these speakers, I would prefer to spend more on a single but better subwoofer. Any experience?
Legacy Audio makes more efficient speakers, and with DSP included in the price. Much better deal. The Legacy dude has been making and designing speakers for decades, if you have not heard a Legacy, you are just fooling yourselves
Love how Paul talks about his lovely speakers, right next to a huge box of Mission speakers! It's refreshing to see such casual setting!
They take trade ins

@@benwu7980PS Audio allows people to trade in equipment for credit against buying new PSA equipment. I’ve done it with an amp.
People trade in their gear to psaudio! I’m sure they see just about everything.
I'm sure that was strategic touché

Literally! 😂

Would love to hear these little ones some day. Glad to see some missions on the show as well, now I don't feel to bad about my missions😀
Why oh why aren't you guys in Capital Audio Fest? I was looking forward to that to hear these
I would think the FR5s would be relatively easy to setup at their small size.
That color looks so much nicer to me than the alternative white color. Just looks hideous to me
Jay’s AudioLab was even blown away by the FR5’s.
I have just got a pair of Serhan Swift Mu2 mkll speakers! They are wonderful!

Watch out electronics play a bigger part than Paul is willing to say.
Yeah, I've heard cheap (but essentially neutral) speakers on the end of $mega systems sounding amazing. Speakers can't add what the source leaves out.
I thought I saw 83 db sensitivity? Sounds like an expensive amp high powered is also required.
If they're done right little speakers like these can sound truly awesome....

Because of technological progress in material sciences.
So proud :)
Why do you have Mission Speaker boxes beside you in the videos?
They do trade-ins in the US. Would love to have that oportunity in Europe too.

I do wonder how a bookie would sound on an amp 10x its rated power.
You can never ever have too much power. I run a 400w Halcro power Amp into a 60w bookshelf and it sings. Low power and distortion kills speakers.
