every person is different and their learning style, I am a concoction of visual and verbal learning, it would be great if you too find what type of learner you are, it can be done with some days of observation. after that use it in your favor as different learning styles have their pros and cons.- but the most important part is recognizing your ability of learning - the rest will flow from there.

Can go for cheaper options as well. Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 Lite works good and it is around 28k with the S-Pen.
it is helpful for them who do want to carry their books and material all the time, best part is that whenever u want u can open it up, everything it has, be it optional, GS, CA, and 11-inch screen is good to watch video studies purpose.
For current affairs magazine n other stuff, no need to take prints n then highlight, u can highlight in iPad itself, earlier I used to spend thousand of rupees for PDF printout but from past 1 year, not a single paper I wasted n it becomes hassle-free.

The main benefit that i have found is reading chunky PDFs, highlighting them and organising different PDFs together..
This task was quite tedious for me with a laptop, and i couldn't sit for longer hours on a chair.. iPad doesn't require charging as often, my laptop is 7yrs old and it requires constant power supply making it more like a desktop.
Still a big fan of hardcopies but iPad has made my job easier in many ways especially with reading documents digitally and in terms of storage.
It is easier to carry, fits in a small handbag as well..can be read while traveling, places where you can't carry your laptop..
I never bought Apple pencil, bought Amazon basics pencil which works pretty fine.
Overall iPad is not absolutely necessary for preparation, but if you are planning to buy it you have to learn how to use it.. otherwise it'll be just another phone like device.

If you want only for study & note taking- Buy Ipad of 32 Gb with case u stylus(works like apple pencil),, It will be more economical.

I love my IPAD
I'm don't have money to purchase one.
And my laptop is also not functioning properly.
I won a scholarship test of 10,000 Rs and what I did was, I bought Lenovo FHD plus Tablet (with Active Pen support) for 23,000 Rs.
Now most of my reading is done using that. Of course it can't perform like iPad.
But I am using it for reading, note making and organising notes.
It serves its purpose...😊

Won’t say that it will be a rote learning thing wrt UPSC but will definitely say that REVISION is the real thing in Civil Services preparation. You have to revise frequently the things you are studying for stronger retention(which is a kind of rote learning only).
Then there are subjects such as History then Polity jisme you have to learn many things by heart only.
But worry not, time ke sath sath sab adjust ho jata hai and the process becomes fun and interesting, only condition being if you are preparing sincerely and with dedication.

Could u come up with a video on how to make notes online like on notion or other apps...online notes are great for current affairs n economics..but figuring out app is difficult and time taking
just use toggle. bulleted list, callout features , remember less is more in this exam. btw if you have time, spend little time to learn new features.

Yes IPad is good for upsc preparation compared to money you for shit test series.. So many strategic analysis U can do with e-content with rich diagramatic content But for writing practise its bad and for books It can replace by Reducing fear over size of the book ...If u can afford its must
