Great hints, my bias always curls, I just thought it was from stretching around curves.
Stretching in the wrong places is why this happens; pressing helps you make sure you're stretching in the correct areas.
Wow, thank you for that tip, on how to sew bias around curves.
Glad it was helpful!
Thank you! This was super simple and straightforward (which I appreciate so much!). My hope is that this method will work for the ribbon I want to use as bias tape as well. Here's hoping!
Ribbon may not work as well around curves since the threads weaving it are not on the bias. The diagonal bias threads help it mold around curves better.
I need to try this pre-ironing thing to march the curves. Sometimes it’s a battle!
Thanks for watching!

Wouldn't clipping the curves in the seam allowance here go a long way to releasing some of that tension as well?
That wouldn't release the tension caused by stretching the bias tape.
What is your iron you use? Looks like it gets good steam.
It's a Black & Decker one that they don't make anymore. This one looks pretty similar to mine amzn.to/3REKIT1
I kind of hate that the answer to most of my sewing issues always comes back to "don't be lazy and use your iron" 😂
Thanks for the demo!
Lol! "Take your time and do all the steps" was my sewing nemesis for years 🤣
