This is insane, good stuff! Where in central valley did you catch it? Also 6lb line is also insane work lol. I have a 10lb minimum on my trout pole and use 20lb on my bass pole and 30 to 80lb when i fish out in ocean, for when fishing for halibut up to shark i rather be over prepared then under prepared 😅
@@alexxvaladez443 Thanks, for trout I use 4lb line and under, and I used to use 6lb or 8lb but I noticed when you go down in line you get more bites. Bait and wait with 4lb,or mini jig with 3lb test. 🎣 Try it out. I have a video of me using 3lb test to catch 6lb trout.
@@rolandalanis1943 thanks, appreciate that. I thought it was going to get off a few times and when I lipped it. Also I'm glad I didn't try taking the bell of the rod cuz I've lost fish by messing with that while fighting a fish . What a day.
Nice one bro sometimes we do have to release them before they die just so we can keep on fishing but sometimes we keep them to you just have to make the call
@@richardadame4722 thank you💯🎣. Yeah If my scale and measuring tape was on me I probably would have been able to release it . Doesn't look too far on the video but I had to walk pretty far with it, so by the time I had got back to my stuff it wasn't looking good.
Brother bump that up to atleast 20 or 30 lb braid or you're gonna end up losing a lot of good sized fish. I wouldn't even use 6 lb test on my bass rod, you're lucky the line didn't snap just pulling that first little one up over the railing
@finelinefishing8777 that's good bro, yeah it was just a suggestion cuz better to be safe then sorry. Catching a little fish with heavier line won't be any different, but hooking into a fish of this size or even bigger somewhere where you're not able to chase it down or you have to worry about it going off on a long run into some cover or something, you'll definitely be glad you have a little heavier line in case you have to horse it around a little more lol. I fish predominantly in the Sacramento river and sometimes in the delta, so I had to up the line I was using myself cuz I kept getting broken off getting snagged checking my bait or anything. Do you ever use magic thread on your sardines and anchovies when you throw them out?
@@tylerwillis2974 fosure I hear you ,🎣.yeah I've used it before at the Aqueduct and off the pier, But haven't recently at the aqueduct. Do you like using that magic thread 🧵?

Regarding bait and wait with anchovies, When you cast out do you let the weight sink all the way down to canal floor?
@@t0nyT yeah
Oh ok cool, in your video I saw you cast out and closed the bail almost right away, just clarifying. Good stuff
@@t0nyT just depends I play with it. Most of the time I close a lil after it hits the water.
