  • SCIENCE FROM YOUR SOFA: Research update on Gut Microbes as Cause and Treatment of ME/CFS
    Guest speaker: Professor Simon Carding, Research Leader, Gut Microbes in Health and Disease, Quadram Institute.
    Evidence suggests ME/CFS patients have immune abnormalities including immune deficiency and autoimmunity that may be related to or perhaps even driven by disturbances in the gastrointestinal tract.
    This event was jointly organised by Sheffield ME and Fibromyalgia Group and Cinnamon Days CIC.

    Cinnamon Days CIC is a social enterprise run by two Nutritionists, Isabel Hemmings and Sue Wharton, who provide nutritional support to people with chronic conditions including ME/CFS and Long Covid.     This is good but overlooks the common Me/CFS sensitivity to salicylates in fruits and veggies. A more carnivore based diet with kefir, fermented foods or other sources of beneficial bacteria would be better advice than just “eat a variety of produce”

      You're suggestion is high in histamines and not especially well tolerated by many either.

      Diet is not an answer to this disease. Stop obsessing about diet.

      Well ime now diagnosed with autism ADHD heds which is linked to the gut as alot are serotonin etc rccx gene theory realy true
