Nice to see how easy the trim pieces are to pop off, excited to see what cosmetic parts will come out to take care of the black trim all around, I don't totally hate the new look, but it'll be cool to see cars rolling around with paint matched trim, or hell for that rear, a proper rear light bar.
Looks nice but i personally prefer the lower brightness of the stock halogen tag bulb’s, I have no desire of making it easier for them to read my rear plates…and by “them” I mean speed cameras, red light cameras and just cops in general.
Good video but you do have a couple unnecessary steps. Only need to remove the trunk liner, then you can give the bulb housings a quick twist and pop them off. No need to remove the trunk trim
@@ImportImageRacingI think you just need to do that if you are changing out the light bulbs into leds, not the whole housing. If you want the whole housing then you have to do those couple steps to remove the outer shell and put in the whole set which is one piece
My 2018 Subaru Outback also came with LEDs, not just on the tags but also on all the interior lights, even the doors map lights or whatever you call them were LED….shit man, even the mirror puddle lights were LED and they were in the shape of the Subaru logo and that’s in addition to the LED turn signals integrated into the mirrors, plus new for 2018 very cool looking LED day time running lights!!! Which combined perfectly with the LED taillights….
Idk about y’all but I want bright ass lights on the back of my car. So it’s easier for people to see me and I reduce the chance of getting rear ended. Don’t do anything illegal and cops won’t mess with you 🤣😛
I am a big music fan , and was wondering if you could share what sound system you have in your Suby, if it can be replaced with a harman & karson, and what would be a good material to isolate the interior of the car for a better sound quality! thsnk you for your time! take care!
Probs a bit late to reply, but this dude is replacing the bulbs with big LEDs that seem to take up the whole housing. You'll notice the stock lights are small halogen T10 bulbs. So if you get a T10 LED you can just remove the lining inside the trunk like he did, and then in the video when he takes out the bulb mounts/sockets? Take out those halogens and put in T10 LEDs. Done. The light won't be as bright/wide but... well, it's easier and cheaper and unless you have a custom plate you're really proud of, who cares?
Thank you! I believe once there are uel headers available for this chassis we will be installing some and trying out a few different exhausts with and without them.
Sure you can, these are just full replacements. If you want to re use your factory housings you can use these. www.importimageracing.com/products/noble-t15-stage-ii-white-led-bulb-universal?variant=39418143637600

I just want to share my experience to maybe save you all some time. I replaced my factory bulbs with LEDs, and they work well until my car is running. I have a remark exhaust. it's pretty loud and has a lot of vibrations, and the vibrations from the exhaust cause the lights to flicker. And after reading a lot of different reviews, this is a common problem with just replacing the bulbs. I'm just going back to stock bulbs. I think if you have a stock exhaust, the LEDS would not flicker.
@@jamesmilliner3739 I bought Amazon version bulbs and they kept on flickering. After changing them few times I grabbed Diode Dynamics and so far so good. Yes, stock exhaust.
@@ImportImageRacing Thanks. What do the reverse LED lights look like when they illuminate? Wondering if they look bright white or yellowish like a typical halogen reverse light
Other people might disagree. Some people want to know how the lights look when installed, see some before and after and we got quite a lot of positive feedback on the last one. Not saying this in a rude way but if you didn't need the video why did you click on it? Just to post this comment?

LED Headlight replacements when? We really need some great options for headlight that arent just a bulb swap and require adding resistors
thats a lot of work just to change license plate bulbs. I'm keeping mine stock. The trunk light however was a must.
It's a labor of love :)
Thank you for posting this. Exactly what I needed to know 😊
Glad to be of service!
Man, my base 2015 Focus ST came with license plate LEDS. How the hell does Subaru not include this in 2022.

Would it be okay to just replace the bulb with LED bulb so you don’t have to remove the trim to replace the whole housing?
Yes, there’s a video that someone shared how to just replace the halogen bulbs with led from Lasfit

Can't wait for a new rear bumper, cheers
Is there a way to just change the bulbs without taking everything apart lol
You can change just the actual bulbs to LED ones. You'll just need to remove the interior trim to access them.

Why put brighter light for thr tag. Waste of time to do that imo.
We can't just replace bulbs with white LED ones and leave housing alone?

Ordered a 2022 so I'm curious, can you guys confirm if the rear turn signals and backup lights are halogen or LED?
Rear turn signals are halogen 7440 bulbs and the reverse lights are build in LED boards that can't be replaces without cutting the light open.

Depends on the tune.
Depends if you're using AC or DC LEDs.
