@@geeahsimone5443 hey! Just like star ratings, spice ratings are obviously subjective too. You will probably never see me rate spice over 3 stars because honestly, I probably would have DNFd the book if it was headed that way. I don't mind spice, but when it is literally the WHOLE plot and constant, I'm just not interested. 0.5-1 is usually closed door or fade to black and it will depend on how much is before that happens or implied. Most of my spice levels are in the 1-2 range. For me, that means it's there, but doesn't impact the story all that much for me. 2-3 is usually where I don't mind it, but it's at the verge of annoying because it's too frequent or the story is relying on the spice too much. Over 3, that involves things that are there PURELY just to make it a spicy book, the details are a bit too much, or the "acts" are very outside my comfort zone to the point that it makes me not want to read the book. Basic overview, but it honestly varies book to book and how the author incorporates it. Hope that helps explain my thoughts on it ☺️
