Maybe you aren't, but it is YT after all and it would be silly to expect something else of people here, don't you think?
I said it already, 3-4 months ago. Not just one episode, but most if not all of them. It was 97% mean bashing with heavy nitpicking (like why a push came 3 seconds too late or how bad the platin player was for not recognizing one of his units got stuck) and only 3% useful information. I'm glad he turned it around to 97% constructive criticism, it's more enjoyable this way, at least for me.
@@nightmareTomek well first off I hope you understand you come across as someone who submits to iodis and complains about some topic; and as such I take your complaint with a grain of salt bc it means you don't fully understand what's going on.
I'd say since the beginning of iodis, harstem has always been sarcastic and pokes fun the way he does. Yes he nitpicks but he does it appropriately (if it's a gm game, seconds matter, if not, he may still point it out but will explain it isn't as big a deal). He especially nitpicks when it relates to the complaint. For ex if someone complains the other race has an army that's impossible to kill yet they keep running into the army instead of splitting
Harstem ALWAYS (from what I've seen) addresses the issues directly brought in question and throughout the video, and whether literal or sarcastic, explains what is right and what isn't and what should be done. If all you hear is "you're so bad nothing you do makes sense, you should question your life choices", then (and I mean this politely) you're missing the point and are just too sensitive

Harstem doesn't "always" this or that. He is a human and humans have moods. It's also not like I just hear him bash. I HEARD him only bash 3 months ago, and criticized it. Now I HEAR a change (a welcomed one). I also heared a change before his bashing started, but that was more gradually. You don't hear any difference at all?

I really struggle with incorporating ghosts into my army as it delays my reaction times tabbing through the control group and i end up misclicking a lot.
I never understood what caused a pro to expand or not I just thought the earlier I could get away with it the better. I guess in this game I just didn’t get away with it.
Watching this replay through the tosses eyes his map control and multitasking far outperformed mine and he was much faster which I guess also feels bad.
Ps, I’m a simple man I don’t handle being pressured well was and I felt not having to worry while I tried to counterattack outweighed the lost income.
@@shadowdwelling222 I mean this makes sense at gold league, but in masters you definatly need the income.
Usually a couple mines and maybe a bunker will handle harass easily, however most of the time just using reinforcements coming out of your rax should handle counter attacks.
In masters league you definatly need to learn to multitask at least to defend harass, if you cannot do that you should not really be in macro masters league.
You'd need to make up for this in some massive way to get a higher ranking.
@@You-ul8qw I’m a long time rts veteran who just got back into the game after a long break from playing. I definitely tend to rely on my ability to heavily outmicro lower level opponents and win fights I shouldn’t.
This guy was clearly just much better than me.

He's lucky his opponent built finesse units. Otherwise the game just would have ended a lot sooner.
No scout, no splits, greedy 3rd base, no vision, terrible built order, no multi tasking drop harass. Vs a protoss that has higher apm, good scout, map vision, constant harass etc. I'm surprise the Terran can even survive that long and even had opportunities to win.
My theory for why he has the lowest wr vs toss is bc its the matchup where he cant do whatever he wants and feels the pain of having to play defensive. he probably wins early/mid vs zerg before they get in gear, and idk what goes on in tvt but it certainly doesnt 'require' being defensive. Aggro players that have to play on the back foot and then complain about it is music to my ears
The problem was that the 3rd base wasn't even greedy. Greedy would mean that there would actually be scvs mining from it, but all the minerals were spend on marines instead, so the eco wasn't even good
@@hanneswiggenhorn2023 Greedy means you tried to get more, doesn't matter if you succeed or not. In this case he didn't succeed cause he got contained hard and had to spend minerals on marines instead to survive. Also, his 3rd base was earlier than the Protoss and he was sending SCVs to it too, he was definitely being greedy.

This proves Terrans only complain about Protoss imba only because they suck at it. Protoss is always at the bottom of the races since their options are usually just a ball while Terrans can marine drop, multitask, EMP, widowmines and so much more compared to Protoss only has a few options, they're strong but only in a ball unlike Terran are still strong in segregated armies.
Just a case of grass is greener on the other side, always has been

@@hamster_designs Yeah, seems to be that way. If you watch the minimap you can see that the one on the rich vespene geysir gets built in the right moment.

It seems a bit too much, but I can’t say I’ve seen ghosts in bunkers too often. I have a feeling if you need your ghosts in a bunker, the game is probably over and some snipes won’t save you. However unlikely, I’d still say it’s imbalanced because you can’t interrupt it like normal

It wouldn't be OP, just pointless. You want Ghosts in the field engaging & Terrans don't build bunkers out on the map in the late game because they are constantly repositioning armies.
For some reason this reminded me of that hilarious bug when Marines could be loaded into a CC and attack from the sky 😂
To be honest your ghost just aren’t good in a bunker. It wouldn’t change anything at a higher level.
Note that stim was out not even 10 seconds after he sees a stalker.
Yeah, but it came after blink and the only thing my first two stims accomplished was getting my troops addicted to drugs.

Both times they forced all of the stalkers to blink back and leave your stuff alone for a few seconds. You bought time to get your medivacs out, and ultimately you cleaned them up pretty well!

@@shadowdwelling222 I used to play ladder. Stopped about 5 years ago, so it's possible my view is outdated, however judging on how players are performing I'm not very far off. I played on different servers and those were my exact ranks on each of them ;)

Toss always gets another base ahead of terran that can't really be challenged. Second or third base, they are always ahead on bases, unchallenged. Why is that ok?

Terran guy forgets scvs... loses scvs and is behind all game... no orbital... no ghosts... somehow terran still winning fights despite toss guy playing well...

I outmicroed him in every major fight by a lot and had consistent upgrade leads. Obviously this came at a cost as he outmultitasked me and blast an infinite amount of workers. My decision make was spot on at every point, and I kept my money spent a lot better than him. The better player won but there was a lot that went into both sides

This is a really good terran player but I don't understand how they thought protoss shields was the problem
So, not as present in this game because I tried to macro it out but I’m very capable of hitting a very tight 3 rax push. I’ve just lost so many games after a certain mmr because like Harstem says try walking accross the map with 20 marines and get there with 10. I saw the blink stalkers abs just give up on it this time. Played my heart out but you saw I got picked apart.
I scouted sometimes and that describes me lol, so I quit scouting.

It's kinda boring how in so many of these replays the one who lost was just down in workers a lot. Sure when you play you don't know how much the enemy has unless you're able to literally count them but you can check the graphs after the game at least before sending the replay.
But this is the audience of Harstem. Harstem really emphasizes micro, army composition, and spell caster usage, so his audience will skill those up, and most critiques will probably be vision or macro
I mean, I was down in workers in the replay and that’s obviously why I lost but that was because this guy picked me apart wjth better multitasking and his ability to kite my army forever.
Also, I took some great fights I thought would be decisive and Harstem seemed to agree with all decision making aside from the planetary. Which he’s right but the planetary was a crutch for a slow boomer.

He can heal his units 100% and shields usually only 50%, how is that imba?
As a terran it always makes me angry when he compliments protoss players for their mapvision. They just have to siege a few observers here and there. Spotter marines are way harder to manage because the get f2ed.
Scan isnt a unit, thats the point
He had 2 observers AND control over both watchtowers. denying vision of both watchtowers is quite easy when you are in the phase of the game where you should have mapcontrol.
