    The woman who founded the first womens shelter tried to open a mens shelter at the same time. She retreated from that part of the idea because she started receiving death threats from feminist groups. Look it up.

      I think I saw that as an interview for The Red Pill documentary. She knew men could be victims because her parents were mutually abusive. There's an article about the guy that tried to create a men's shelter in Canada. Instead of focusing on the need, the author focused on how he perpetuated MRA myths. Apparently, because the statement that men and women are victims in equal numbers can't be adequately substantiated, the fact that men are victims at all is unimportant. And then the statistic quoted in the article was barely related to the assertion. Something akin to "men don't make up 50% of domestic abuse victims because this other study shows that only 8% of men are murdered by their spouses."

      I had many situations exactly like that and similar and the only right course of action when you don't know who to believe is to make both parties leave. Someone is lying their ass off so the only way to make sure that neither party is further disadvantaged by the other parties' lies is to show them both the door.

    • @like2btree
      @like2btree 3 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      Like I said in my comment, they're literally not supposed to do things like that. You cannot shelter an unattended child unless it's a children's shelter, which is literally locked down 24-7, and the kids aren't even allowed outside unless they're determined not to be a flight risk. They are to stay with their guardians, or to be put into a foster situation until the guardian is stable. Those are the options. And if they had let your kid stay unattended and leave with you in the morning, they would've been in HEAPS of legal trouble. Whoever told you that is an idiot. You can't let kids stay in adult shelters without a legal guardian present, PERIOD. I'm so sorry that happened to you. If that ever happens again, tell them you need them to put it in writing why they're turning you away, so you can talk to a lawyer about them endangering your child. Making a kid sleep on the streets, or allowing them to stay unattended, both are considered child endangerment. Cause when pushed, they will have to let you stay since they won't dare put that in writing that you came to them with a kid and they made your kid sleep outside in the elements. And the cops can't take your kid away for you just going to a shelter, since that's not breaking the law. But they CAN take your kid if you're making them sleep outside. What those places did is a very serious issue, and it's not okay. And it wouldn't surprise me if you weren't white, or are racially ambiguous, based on how they spoke to you. The same thing happens with crappy doctors thinking they can get away with not doing their jobs, especially when it involves minorities. Always, if you feel you're not being treated fairly by government and medical officials, get some form of documentation for your records, even if it's just a video of them trying to lie to you about what your rights are. You can get them fired. Their job description is a legal document. They are required by law to fulfill their duty. That's why the supreme court ruled a cop's duty doesn't include "serve and protect," because they are legally bound to their contract, and you can literally sue your state if government employees don't do their job correctly, especially when it comes to kids.

There shouldn't be rules like "men pay on the first date". I often hear mean things men say about women and mean things women say about men. :/ My boyfriend really hates the term feminist because all he sees of feminists nowadays is feminazis :( This saddens me but often those extremes in both genders exist because of bad experiences with the opposite sex. It's a neverending cycle of hate unless everybody decides to let go of their hate.

      Sort of related, I keep seeing advertisements trying to appeal to people to change actions by pointing out how women are affected. The StopAAPI Hate campaign is an example of that. Many of the commercials will mention specific cases of women being attacked and quote how many instances of female victims there are. There's a poster on a bus stop I sometimes pass that tries to get people to wear masks by pointing out your mother could be at risk or something. These aren't gendered issues. The sad thing is that men could actually be the majority victim, but the agencies don't think people would care unless they make it about women. The Bureau of Justice has victim studies going back to 1973 that they started doing reports on in 1994. Every report comes to the same conclusion that men are the majority victims of every violent crime except sexual assault. I recall an article in Australia based on their annual statistics that found men are significantly more at risk of public violence, and that result is probably repeated in the annual reports since. But because women "feel" unsafe on dark streets, that's the narrative that gets pushed.

As the film goes on (as it is set over a span of a few years), she sees how men are destroyed in family court, what the response is when men are abused by their spouses and not believed and how many men's shelters there are in the country compared to women's (the number of men's shelters in America can fit on my hand. Women's shelters are endless). By the end of the film, her mind has changed completely and she no longer considers herself a feminist. It was the most mind-blowing documentary.

If you're in pain, if you need help, if it feels like your life is falling apart around you, it's up to you to do something about it. When a woman I cared very much about turned on me, and did everything in her power to hurt me (and she knew some very personal stuff about me). That almost sent me over the edge, and when I turned to a some female friends (back then most of my friends were female) and told them what she'd done, they sided with her, they admitted that what she did was wrong, and that she had no reason to attack me on a personal level like she did... but she's a woman, and they told me I have to try to understand she would cheat, lie, and betray me. I just wanted to enjoy a drink on my own while listening to music playing and be in my own world after a long day, she got annoyed and asked again, I again politely declined and explained my reasoning, then she shoved me and gave a dirty look all while there must’ve been about 15 people around the small area I was in and yet not 1 person, man or female, said anything of what happened.

      I’m so sorry that you lived that experience. I’m not a man and I won’t pretend that I understand, but if you were my son I would say that you’re the only one who has live your life. YOU dictate how others will treat you. YOU control your outcomes to the best of your ability. Being a man, whether young or old, is hard and comes with a heavy burden of personal responsibility. Stand up, do not be made anyone’s victim. Strike back at the people who try to take something out of you, with fists or otherwise. Words, actions or by raising yourself up above the lesser people. Take responsibility for whatever repercussions come along with all of it, and wear your punishments proudly.
      I got bullied as a girl, by boys and girls. Even some teachers didn’t like me. Something clicked, or broke, in me near the end of high school. I said to myself, hey I don’t like this. I’m not stupid or fat or ugly. People can’t hit me or spit on me or smoosh gum in my hair or dump food on my clothes. You know what I did? I came into the cafeteria with a pair of scissors and cut a chunk out of Serena MacCullen’s hair as she sat there with her bully friends. I figured it was fair considering my mum cried the evening before while she cut the gum out of mine, apologizing over and over for not being able to fix it. Guess what? I got suspended. Guess what else? I didn’t sit on any more hidden tacks left on my chair, or get spit on, or pushed out of the door of the bus while trying to get down the stairs, or told to kill myself. Did they still hate me? Sure. Did I care anymore? Nope. I left school and breezed into college with a fresh perspective, and an awareness that I had my own power. That kind of confidence is palpable, and people will respect it even if they can’t understand why.
      Some people will tell you, don’t stoop to their level. Two wrongs don’t make a right. Etc. Those people don’t understand what it means to be held down under someone else’s boot. It’s your life, this is your time. No one has to live it but you.

    SO refreshing and amazing to see these proud, strong, common sense women fight for true equality of all sexes unlike the militant, power hungry, man hating and self loathing women due to having no direction or empty lives.

    This restored my hope in humanity, I thought they have completely turned our lovely women against us. We need to shear this message out.

    I appreciate it the fact that these women take the time out of their day to make these videos especially the last video like that literally just about brung tears to my eyes because it's all true. Us men literally keep our emotions to ourselves and just worry about ourselves because we no nobody give a damn about how we feel but these women on here they a whole nother breed. So....thank you.

    I had a woman hit on me at a bar once. Said I have a gf and promptly pointed to her standing not 1 foot away from me talking with our friend . This woman proceeds to keep asking me saying out it’s just dancing come on. if tables were turned and a guy kept asking after a no wonder how big a scene would be made?

    The clip around 3:40 happened to me and a friend. We were playing pool at a bar, which we did twice a week, and a woman came over to play a game with us. My friend politely told her that we were just hanging out, and didn't want to play pool with anyone else. She proceeded to berate us and call us gay.
