    It is so pretty! When you pour a large piece but have to trim parts off to fit the mold you are using it in, save the swirls and squiggles you cut off. They would be pretty added in pendants and earrings.

    I find it easier to lay the mold face down and then peel the mold off in one direction. The delicate resin will stay on your counter and you won't risk having breakage from pulling on the resin during the un-molding.

    If you had added a few flakes of glitter to the black resin, the stray glitter would look more intentional.
    Making the design and border with black and then using a light or clear background would give a wrought iron effect. If you have, or can find letter molds, then making a name plaque would be easy.

    I like it! I've been using inlays and onlays for about a year and love the extra dimension it gives the pieces. That glue trick will be tried tomorrow! So thanks, this was a real pleasure to watch! When you make an onlay, a larger thicker fondant,plaster or wood onlay mould, I take them out when they're no longer tacky but are still pliable. I used these filigree corner pieces and bent them carefully around the base of a made, resin box. The points of the filigree triangles/corners, make excellent feet for any box. I used UV resin to secure them to the box and they have stuck on there really well. There are so many moulds to try!

    I’ve got several thoughts…I LIKE the “stupid” glitter! It just adds something lol. I guess you have options now. I too have more than a few cake inserts so, once again, I will be trying this ASAP, lol. I’m so glad you tried this because I’ve been thinking about doing it for awhile and I love when someone does it first so I can see what to do, and not to. Isn’t Daniel’s trick with the glue amazing! He is truly the scientist of our craft, lol. The tray is stunning. Elegant. Would be a seller for those that sell for sure. 🎉 Great Job!!

    So cool. I just bought a bunch of these types of molds on Amazon. Doilies, seashells, borders, knit patterns, flowers, snowflakes and more. My idea was to make resin pieces and the use them in coasters; like having a set of coasters with different snowflakes, or different flowers, or different seashells. I'm happy to see you saved me the hard design work😀. Too cool!

  • @PLHcrafts
    @PLHcrafts 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

    That's gorgeous! I thought the glitter would have stayed put too since it was not only heavier but gloopy too. With the lighter resin on top I didn't think it would float like that 😂.
    I would like to add a suggestion. You just coat the bottom of the mold in clear resin and let it cure. If you have stencils, and they make intricate ones too, place it on your cured resin and dust the design on. Then finish with your top coat. That works too. Or dust the mold itself using your stencil works just as well. Depends on what you're comfortable with.
    ✌️❤️🤣 peace, love and happiness

    Michelle, I live this tray! It is one of a kind. Also, because the glitter floated a bit, it looks handmade. Definitely not a mass-produced tray. It's really beautiful ❤❤❤
    The shells remind me of what archeologists dig up from 8000 year old graves of the wealthy and powerful people of that time. Shells made of gold. 😂

    They would be good for furniture flippers too glam up a piece.

    Beautiful. I would allow the glitter layer to set, then put the black on. THEN, remove it from the mold and put the inlays in and top coat. Makes it a two day process. I have the same mold and that is what I did.

    That came out beautiful! I'm wondering if you could set the small inlays around in a pot or jar? Thanks for another awesome video!❤😊
