For those wondering, the beginning is required. It is something called glitchy corner. Horizontal wall glitch has a lesser-known requirement of needing to be in contact with a horizontal wall AND a vertical wall to have it activate for its usual 20 frames. However, a way exists to get around the vertical wall requirement, and that is getting something we call “glitchy corner”, which allows you to get HWG just by hitting a horizontal wall. There are three main ways I know of that can allow this. First, contacting the corner of a horizontal and vertical wall, i.e. the first HWG you’d see in any run (rWS, CM, rDKJP). Second, being squeezed through a wall by another wall (what happens in this TAS). Third, certain corners of two vertical walls (I think this happens on Colour Circuit). Basically, in order to get HWG off the top of the rock to get into a superslide, we need to get glitchy corner, since there’s no accessible means of satisfying the vertical wall requirement. This is only possible by doing the wall squeeze at the beginning. Current estimates suggest that superhopping alone (i.e. no supersliding) should be able to bring the time of this down to a low 1:5x or high 1:4x, so this strategy isn’t optimal. However, seeing it done in a 3lap setting (it’s actually done to get a superslide for the ultra flap that still hasn’t been published after like half a year) is just hilarious because we have a setup for a NU strat which involves doing a ridiculous turnaround like this for seemingly no reason!
everything about this run is just absurdly funny--the way the glitch is started, the way funky is halfway through the floor, the way the stick is wiggling back and forth at lightning speed, and the way it's *actually so fast* i can't get over it
I didn't come across this video until just now, but nice job on the run and thanks for actually doing something with this discovery. I was way too lazy to do anything with it myself. It'll be very fun to see supersliding destroy a NU flap once that actually happens.
Imgine racing against a ghost, thinking "oh its on wario bike, it cant be that good" and seeing him do a random wallclip at the start, just to see the same ghost halfway in the ground, sliding next to you at full speed and winning by quite a bit
@@KaiMKwait, fr? Like, it's not a joke since it's just a prelim? It sounds crazy, also because I assume the rock is a HW anyway, so you should be able to clip through

lol I’m glad they didn’t just skip this and for the optimal super hopping. This is GOLD!! 😂
Is it what was required to go through the wall on Jiyuu Village ?
is NU never used like in pokemon
color circuit glitch uses this mechanic
This aged well
Bro got distracted at the beginning
if agdq logan grumble volcano was driving
@@birdieboy02That‘s so funny lol
This is officially the *goofiest* TAS BKT 😂
1:49 toadette trying to stay ahead, wheras funky is just wario biking his way past
The ghost comparison is so funny

If you showed this to a 2008 player, I think their head would explode
I don't even want to know what TAS's are going to look like in 2040 at this point 😂
this is my new favorite BKT
think i've just learned to accept that Funky Belongs in The Floor
Congratulation For This Amazing TAS ! 😸 🐙 🦑 👻 🙈
I love this!
Some good music

what a bizarre but cool run lol. So glad the clip shortcut category is dead
Why are you glad? The clip shortcut was so cool.
So the right side of the rock DOES have a purpose...
why am i just seeing this now lol this is awesome
What the heck
Real question though, is the pole clip at the beginning needed? What does it do?
you have to do it go clip through the rock i have no idea why it is required tho

Hole shit 🔥
Why is the beginning necessary?
No idea but it definitely is 🤷♀️
@@KaiMK I understand 😂
Take a look at Kierio's comment above to understand@@INFINITY_99

omg poor pengin
This is crazy
I think this is optimal
probably still improvable tho
@@KaiMK i think super hopping without super slide is faster
amazing subed!
Now to see if this is possible on SNES MC3
Crazy
No way. Is this faster than just superhopping?
probably not
this game is stupid
