Whenever I see a new video from you I smile and set time aside to watch. You have a positive attitude and a good sense of humor. That's a great combination.
I enjoy your demeanor. You're hopeful, encouraging, and not an angry man. I like going along on your trips. Thank you for putting the extra effort into making your videos.
Your panning is just fine. As you said everyone does it differently. I’d recommend feeding your sluice a little slower though. Gotta give the gold a little more time to settle. Overload it and it can just flow right over the riffles.
Day 10 of the quarantine and so far I've learned how to: Change the hooves of a horse properly armwrestle blacksmith search for Items in a river search for gold in a stream
"Couch panners" don't get any gold. They just watch us get it on their devices. Anyone who has ever found gold doesn't want to lose it. You always get better with what works for you the best. I liked your video because of the honesty. A lot of You Tubers seed their pans for show. I dam up a small creek to alter the flow so I can clean off the bedrock and then open it back up when I'm done. We need metal detectors that find tiny deposits of flood gold.
I've got a small stream running through my property. I order a sluice box and it should be in this Wednesday! My sin and I have been classifying some dirt from the stream getting ready for the sluice! I don't expect to find anything, but it's something my son and I can do at home! Plus you never know if there is gold or not if you don't check!! Love the videos Chigg!! Keep them coming :D
You can sluice the juice anyway you want Chigg. I've never done it in my life and probably never will, but I still enjoy seeing you do it and your friends do it. Life is good when you can share it with friends. Have a great day getting wet in the mud. ...ha ha ha...
I've never been metal detecting, or magnet fishing, or relic hunting, or panning for gold or caving(unless going into "commercial" caves with paved paths count),... the point I'm trying to make is that I enjoy watching your videos, because they allow me to "experience" new things. Thank You for that.
I've been enjoying your video's for about a year and a half now. All of them are very interesting ,fun and a great variety! The way you do your videos makes you feel like an old friend .
This was EXACTLY what I was looking for when I entered my search. We have a small creek behind us with lots of quartz and that black metallic stuff. I'm getting ready to do some panning and you have helped me with this intro. Thank you.
I am so happy the Chig is still posting. I am like MANY where it was the chig’s early videos that got me into detecting. Garrett owes the Chig thousands to be fair with the amount of guys like me he gravitated towards the hobby. A good and decent man too. I freaked during his “Time to say goodbye” video two months ago. Any Ass bites that leave crap comments do not take into consideration the hours and hours of free entertainment and education he has provided. They should simply be blocked immediately. This should be a great experience for the creator as well. God bless Beau and here’s to many more years.
Chigg, you are right about everyone having their own technique. My dad taught me when I was younger. His technique was to use a combination of the swirl and spill to a forward and backwards motion. He always said the black sand is what you want to end up with and that’s where you going to see the gold. We always had a lot of fun.
This is what I like to see, a man who's willing to get down and dirty to find the valuables of this world. More people should grow a pair like this guys.
I love his videos, my favourite have to be when he goes on the American Indian hunt for Artefacts, and also the gold panning, then the under water hunts. Best videos ever
Love your videos. Because I watch all the time I bought a bounty hunter detecter. Thank you for being such a good person n I hope you don’t quit making these. I also have shared them with my client when I was a care giver in their home. She loved them too. 87 yr old treasure detecter. Stay safe.
As for your panning technique, well it is just fine, mine looks sloppy compared to a lot of others. I have never used a sluice myself, Dad made a rocker sluice when I was a kid back in the late 1950's. We found small amounts of gold. Dad always said it was for getting out into the fresh air and just having fun. Then in the spring of 1959 I almost lost my Dad when he interrupted a bank robbery and pursued the would be robber, who later shot him during the attempt to arrest him. We never went out gold panning or using the rocker again after that. There is a lot of gold mining areas where I now live and I take my pan and classifiers with me when I travel in those areas I stop in places along the way and dig up a bucket full then stop on a creek and take time to pan it out, I might find a little color and I keep what I can recover from the black sand. I love your videos, you do some things that I cannot do or you go places that I can only dream of going to. Have a great day, thank you for sharing your adventures and discoveries. But, most of all, stay safe and healthy, keep your family safe and healthy as well.. //es//A 70y/o Active Outdoors Lady and Veteran, 1967-1994
Fun stuff. When I was younger we used to swim in the James River all the time and I can remember pulling up hands full of sand all the time with gold flakes in it. We never paid much attention to it then. Now I would spend my time getting the gold instead of just swimming around. Awesome 🇺🇸
In 1989 I was in New Zealand with my father in a place where gold would be found, but we had never done gold prospecting and because we had previously heard how a farmer found greenstone in an accident with his car hitting a rock , which gave us the idea of splitting a rock to see if there was gold in it, which turned out not to be an easy job afterwards, so we eventually blew it off. I read via Google that gold is found in the Rhine that the ride there is more expensive to get there, so I stick to magnet fishing. One thing I know now that I am no longer a stupid Dutchman and thanks to your videos how or how to look for gold. I dare to doubt whether it will ever happen again. I am 60 and folding myself with my more than two meters in length I already hear my joints creak. ;-)
Panning for gold during "The Gold Rush" days, I'm sure that they had many techniques that they used. If you get gold, you get gold. I'm with ya, buddy!🤠😎👍
If that's a Keene Engineering sluice and a Garret Gravity Trap Pan, you are using exactly what I did about 37 years ago when I last went looking for 'colors' in gold pans. Love the video!
Great video! Very helpful! My friends and I are just panning for fun, but it’s such a pleasant way to spend time outside! It reminds me of what I enjoyed about fishing as a kid.
Lmao , last time I went panning it took over a week to recover … the old back just can’t handle it anymore. But I’m delighted you found some … Keep em coming brother…..
I like your way of panning! And I like your content! And you always just put it into prospective for the noobs that want to do the same things that you do!
thanks, Chigg. your panning is fine, let them work themselves up over nothin`. i`ve been prospecting the Swift River region in Maine for the past few years. good gold there
I want to try some panning one day! Keep making videos, I watch them every day, my grandson likes watching them also, we’re detecting every chance we get , learning bunches from watching. Thanks
Great video as always Chigg! Your videos are awesome...you almost always have me laughing at something you do or say. Great technique also! Keep up the good work!
Always enjoy your vlogs. Recently got my dad watching as well and he really likes the variety of places and types of searching, (metal detecting, scuba, panning, magnetic, caves, etc.) you do. Also finds your lightly fun hearted humor a laugh. Enjoy
I like the way you pan! My dad was a gold miner. I grew up on the creek. I wish I was on that creek now. I have been stuck in Phoenix for too long now....ugh....somebody save me, please!?
@Aguachigger I have been watching your videos for quite some time now and I have been enjoying all of them I love the metal detecting and magnet fishing I have gotten a metal detector and magnet you have inspired me to metal detect but thanks for all the fun videos
Sitting at home locked down and yearning for the great outdoors and a swinging metal detector.....It’s unlikely to happen for months here. Thank you for keeping me relatively sane Mr Chig!
I was really hoping to do some gold panning in Canada this spring but can’t get across the border because it’s shut down. Glad to see you were able to get out. Thanks for sharing.

Do you have a claim or just going around to random spots on streams on public land? Also, your technique looks fine to me!
Lets plan my creek
I very much enjoy watching your videos!
Love the ending I needed that !!!!
Yay i love your videos! My mom and i watch every video you make!
Whenever I see a new video from you I smile and set time aside to watch. You have a positive attitude and a good sense of humor. That's a great combination.
he reminds me of dakota fred hurt from Gold Rush: White Water as they both are good human beings.
I enjoy your demeanor. You're hopeful, encouraging, and not an angry man. I like going along on your trips. Thank you for putting the extra effort into making your videos.
I love how you explain what you are doing and why. I’ve learn so much from watching your videos. Thanks for being such a great teacher !

Day 10 of the quarantine and so far I've learned how to:
Change the hooves of a horse
properly armwrestle
blacksmith
search for Items in a river
search for gold in a stream
I wonder if the horses like to get their hooves changed. Sound really painful to me.
You really need to do something with your life...
I wonder what you learned by now 😂
I bet you're itching to get out and use your new skills. I get down to the rivers and have a little pan.
So 4 years later, have you used anything of these things? 😂
Chigg's in the water, river hunting can't be too far away.
Let's hope

Gold is always where you find it. You never know till you go. Good luck.
Good luck!
I got a smaller than small stream running through my property. Don't know if it's worth learning all this
Good luck my friend! Peace and prosperity to you and your family! Montana Rick.

Flour Gold Wizards told me just being out there is what it’s about. The gold is extra
Jason is a wise man!
@@charlesstein2880 It all ads up very quickly and it is smart to collect it all for the time your stuck at home to process.
@@charlesstein2880 I mean, if it's really truly that plentiful by you, you could really make a good profit collecting it dude
