    Isn't nature so remarkable, the most beautiful and priceless gift. How can you not fall in love with it and want to protect it x
    This beautiful butterfly was like a little delicate fairy.

      Thank you David. I’m very lucky that the subject of this video made the video on the whole, pleasing on the eye! 😆👍

    These are lovely little butterflies, your video captured exactly the flight characteristics of this gem, I always think they look like pieces of tissue paper being tossed around in the wind, a lovely video! Chris B.

    This was wonderful. That little antenna dance, had me think of butterfly kisses.

    Beautiful Joel I had the pleasure of volunteering at Monkwood, Worcestershire where a reintroduction project for Wood white has been going on. A targeted conservation management project. Clearing rides and verges and monitoring. Carried out by Butterfly conservation members working alongside the Forestry commission. There was a reintroduction in 2016 and 2018. They're hoping to increase the size and spread with the hope of developing wider habitats for further reintroductions.

      Hi Tracey. That's great to hear - I know they are doing better in certain areas in the midlands and a lot of efforts have been made by BC to widen their range across the south and east. Let me know how the reintroductions are faring. Take care. Joel.

    Never seen the wood white yet not seen many species anyways.
    Last summer I couldn’t believe the amount of Hummingbird moths in Jersey and, lo and behold I see my first ever one in England right here in my garden 😄
    Keep up the good work Joel 👌🏻

    • @george-1961
      @george-1961 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@rigajykra3159 It was hovering around the Buddleja in my garden but didn’t stay long. My first and only time last summer.
      Not sure the plants in Jersey, but one of them was a very tall conical blue flowering plant. It was a magnate for a lot of pollinators. I’ll try and get the name of it

  • @jojoba11

    The flight reminded me of the butterflies in Alice in Wonderland or some sort of Disney film - looked unreal! Beautiful.

      Yes! That's it, Disney-designed... I like that description :) It's almost like it's being held by fine strings, with a puppet master above... Best wishes, Joel

    Thanks for that video, I was surprised that they are out so early down there. We have them in a site in the depths of darkest Surrey, first brood usually late April early May and a second brood mid-ish August. Beguiling beings flapping low in the damp margins, fairy's of the woods,

      What a wonderful description, Richard. This was indeed filmed last June in France, as it was part of a round trip to the Pyrenees (see the French playlist for more on this beautiful country), so sorry for the confusion. All the best, Joel
