    Not to far from Kiandra mate .I think I would have made my camp close to those rocks and used them to radiate the heat out to stay warm .

    • @ChrisBamman79
      @ChrisBamman79  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      yep, the 4 mile :) wind was the deciding factor in my camp location, was nicely tucked away, that rocky section was well exposed :) thanks heaps for watching :)

    Great vid. We are looking to do a camp this winter. Don't want to do anything too extreme. Where you were looks doable. Is that the track from the highway that starts at Sawyers Hut?

    • @ChrisBamman79
      @ChrisBamman79  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      yep mate it was at sawyers hut, they close the track to vehicles in the winter and I didn't want anything to extreme either so this was perfect. There is a couple of tracks to chose from up there. Thanks heaps for watching and stoked you enjoyed it, have fun on your snow adventure :)

    • @qeull
      @qeull 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Good fishing euc. Do a ton of flyfishing there. My mums not that far away . We have done a lot of camping round that way just never in winter. Noticed another vid you did fishing at the camping area off sawyers. Did you do any good. Beat the madhouse that gets on the river. Plenty of big fish if your prepared to walk. Did you leave your car at Selwyn.? All the best.

    • @ChrisBamman79
      @ChrisBamman79  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      the snow hike I left the car a sawyers and the other one I left it at the top of the track off the road in the bush as it was well steep and slushy, I'm looking forward to learning and having ago at fly fishing as I've got a mate who just lives for it and is getting me geared up so there will be more adventures to the snows in the coming years for sure !!! all the best to you to mate and thanks again for checking out the videos :) Chris

      Where are you from Chris? I'm just out of Canberra - I do most of my walking in Namadgi NP, sometimes in KNP. I'm also in the huts association and a caretaker of an historical (and very remote) drovers hut.

      I'll be doing the light to light walk in 12 days. Down in your neck of the woods. We're doing it over 3 days - taking some rods for fishing, books to read and something to drink at nights.

    how'd you rate the vango blade in those conditions??

    • @ChrisBamman79
      @ChrisBamman79  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      pretty good mate, it got pretty windy that night and it was nice and stable pointed into the wind,
      wasn't too cold but I did take a tarp for a footprint and a heat reflector to put under my mat and a good sleeping bag,
      overall was fine , for price Ive been really happy with it
      thanks heaps for watching the video , hope you enjoyed it
