Can anyone miraculously “speak in tongues” today, in the biblical sense? Absolutely not! Since no one can speak in tongues in the biblical sense, then obviously what people who claim they can are doing something other than biblical tongue speaking. Therefore, should we encourage anyone who thinks he can speak in tongues to go ahead and do so anyway? The answer is NO!

I just come acrossed your site today. It's very good and very hilarious to hear non church goers try speak about the bible which they themselves do even attempt to pick up and read.
We left a Pentecostal church after 21 years because of controlling pastor. I saw the pastors latest live video and he said enough tithes didn’t come in to pay him but he still got paid. Not long ago he said he was given a raise because of inflation. There’s a Pentecostal church near me where the preachers grandson had embezzled nearly $500,000 in about 5 years. He was arrested. The decades long pastor stepped down too. Not sure if he got in trouble too. My ex pastor called himself a poor country preacher but brags how he bought a $60,000 truck, has rental properties, he has millionaire sons. He says all this while preaching to say how he pays double tithes.
"Hypocrites! Well did Isaiah prophesy about you, saying: 'These people draw near to Me with their mouth, And honor Me with their lips, But their heart is far from Me. And in vain they worship Me, Teaching as doctrines the commandments of men.'" (Matt. 15:8-9) From the above passage, please consider that people are hypocrites when they worship God after the commandments of men. They are hypocrites when they worship God after man's commandments because if they truly loved and honored God as they claim, they would worship Him only as He directs. Though they strongly claim honor and respect toward Him, when they teach as doctrines the commandments of men, God Himself calls them "hypocrites." Let us not be hypocrites before God. Let us boldly reject all traditions and doctrines of men, and worship and serve Him in accord with His truth.

Is there anywhere in the Bible, Old or New Testament, that says that tithing is money? I could be wrong, but I don't think so, Israel never gave money for their tithes.
Bible have few verses that speack about tithing. Tithing is a specific kind of giving that include different kind of produce and money or equivalent that available at the time. However tithing is not support payment to pastor or preacher etc. Tithing mentioned as commandments and by prophets. There is more, however again tithing have specifik purposes for people of Israel. Each purpose describe at list in verses I mentioned. They also need to be read and interpret in context. One example of tithing is that every Israelite must separate 10th of yearly income for specific purpose to spend on pilgrimage Festivals and sukrifices. All that have nothing to do with any pastors and churches.Surely if pastors need support/salary it fine however this is not tithing. It is very helpful to call proper things by their proper names. These signs shall follow them that believe . One of them is they shall lay hands on the sick and recover. We see God perform these miracles all of the time. These people skip past all kinds of healings which we ourselves have seen and witnessed and jump straight to raising the dead Has God raised the dead ? Yes he has but that doesn’t happen everyday or would ever die and stay dead ? ACTS 2:38, 1 Corinthians 14:2,4-5, 1 Corinthians 14:5 , speaking in tongues is a real language. It is not a known, natural language, but it is a supernatural language that is meant for direct communication with God. It is a language that cannot be understood without divine interpretation. The only thing that makes tongues real is faith. Believing that when I speak in tongues I’m speaking directly to God is what brings value to the practice of tongues. The gift of speaking in tongues has three main purposes: To speak mysteries directly to God., Build yourself up, Speak in tongues to the church with a divine interpretation.
Tongues are intelligent, understandable languages, such as what I'm speaking now. What is known as a "language" today is nothing but gibberish, nonsensical utterings. Lalalalalala is not a language that is understood by anyone, it's little more than baby babble. I bet if anyone who claims to be able to speak in tongues went to another country and tried it there, they'd be labeled crazy. The tongues that were spoken on the day of Pentecost in Acts 2 were understood by those who heard the apostles speak, Acts 2:6-12. It didn't take faith for the Jews to understand what they were hearing. Their faith didn't come until they heard Peter speak to them, Acts 2:14-36.
@joeveridical 1 Cor. 13:8 Charity never faileth: but whether there be prophecies, they shall fail; whether there be tongues, THEY SHALL CEASE; whether there be knowledge, it shall vanish away. Like you said, " Like people who believe they know everything, but really know nothing." Your words come back to haunt you.
@@johnherschel7430 I take it that you're an atheist, which is why you don't believe what the Bible says. These spiritual gifts did exist and they have ceased, which is why gibberish reigns supreme in denominations today. I notice that no one claims to be able to raise the dead, they have all chosen miraculous healings and tongue speaking, neither of which are workable today. If spiritual gifts still existed, why are there medical schools producing doctors and other medical staff, why are there coroners, why are there funeral directors and cemeteries? Either of you can answer this, I'm interested to know.
Spiritual Gifts are gone and here is scripture to prove it! "Love never fails; but if there are gifts of prophecy, they will be done away; if there are tongues, they will cease; if there is knowledge, it will be done away. For we know in part and we prophesy in part; but when the perfect comes, the partial will be done away. When I was a child, I used to speak like a child, think like a child, reason like a child; when I became a man, I did away with childish things. For now we see in a mirror dimly, but then face to face; now I know in part, but then I will know fully just as I also have been fully known. But now faith, hope, love, abide these three; but the greatest of these is love" (I Corinthians 13:8-13).
@@johnherschel7430 Miracles were for the purpose of confirming the word (Mark 16:20). Once God’s word was confirmed, the miracles ceased. It did not need to be continually confirmed. The miracles were like the scaffolding used to build a high-rise building. While the building is going up, there is the necessity of the scaffolds; however, once the building is completed, the scaffolding is removed. Since the New Testament is complete, the miracles have ceased. To assert that miracles are still taking place today is tantamount to a denial of the all-sufficiency of the word of God. It implies that God is still revealing his will to man in means other than through the written word. The problem with that view is that everybody has his take on what God is revealing. One’s feelings become his standard, rather than the faith being his standard. What one feels is not necessarily what the faith of the gospel reveals.
