Although I'm sure you have already taken care of yours, I will add this for anyone having the same issue right now. True, you will have to remove the radio and the Serial number will be on top. If you search for the following video, this guy shows how: "How to Remove Radio / Navigation / Touch Screen from Honda CRV 2015 for Repair." If you just need the S/N you can disregard the last part of his video where he disconnects the hazard light cable. The vents were easy to remove with a small plastic spatula from my rice cooker, and then just two screws for the radio. After that just pry the top of the radio first and then the bottom. (this part needed a little bit of force but worked)
Upgrade my infotainment from a 2013 to 2014 Civic and the Vin not Show up... in this Info screen. So unable to Update the System with the USB that I Bought from Honda. It say (Incorrect Password) even if the password is correct
TIP: If you need this AFTER the battery install (and it just comes up with the screen to enter your code), hold the power button for 2 seconds until it beeps. You will then be able to access the menu to get the system id.
It was asking for a code. I held down the power button till it beeped then the menu screen popped up. I chose FM and its all working now.

Typing mistake or phishing? Most scam websites are usually a 1 letter off misspelling of the real website. Not accusing, just observing.

After holding the power button and getting the beep all is working now no need for a code.
