Lovely video, as always. The rhubarb is looking amazing! Your home garden is such a great size and full of potential, can't wait to see what you do with it.
Thank you Jenny, a bit of a wet weekend, but garden at home is coming along nicely, I’m in negotiations with my wife about whether I can have a polytunnel, I’m working on it 😂🌱
Adding more flowers to the garden is also my intention this year. Normally the window sill is full with vegetable seedlings but now there are snapdragon and zinnia seedlings as well. It must be very mild where you are that you can leave the bulbs in the ground in winter 👍🏼
It’s always a great thing having more flowers in the garden 😊 I will be doing the same and direct sowing the seed. I do find especially at home that I’m able to let plants and bulbs over winter. Canna are very tender and they come back every year, I just mulch the area in case of hard ground frost in winter and it works
Thank you Sharon, I’m so glad you enjoyed, I felt the sun was out and there was just something uplifting about finally being able to properly do some gardening 😁🌱❤️
Thank you kindly my friend, I am really looking forward to seeing how everything grows this year. You have a lovely channel I must join and follow your developments 😊❤🌱
Hi Amir! Finally have some time to sit down and enjoy your videos and this is just brilliant. Lupins, Foxgloves, Geums... there will be some grateful insects out there, aside from how beautiful these are. Foxgloves just keep on giving too ☺ This was a fantastic way to spend some of Sunday morning, watching you immersed and with some sun at last and just enjoying the plot and the nature that you're considering too. I love the style of your videos, it's like sitting there with you. Hope one day I can join you in person and I completely empathise about being a weekend gardener ☺
Hi Joel, thanks so much for your lovely message, when I see how much the wildlife benefits from the areas that I think are “neglected” it actually makes me feel a whole lot better. Thankfully my allotment site are not as strict as some out there, as long as I’m growing veg and cultivating the beds, I will keep adding more flowers so that the wildlife can thrive. That gives me just as much satisfaction as harvesting veg. I think the birds definitely appreciate me leaving the sunflowers in for them to enjoy, that’s why they moved it 😂
@@AmirsAllotment 🤣no doubt at all! You're setting such a great example, you really are. Encouraging the insects only encourages the birds, and they, along with larger insects will feast on greenfly and other "pests" and everyone needs bees and other insects to help pollinate - none of us have time to do this via small brushes once the pollinators have disappeared. Best wishes, Joel
Good afternoon Amir, what a beautiful video definitely a keeper.lm so excited about your future plans for the allotment and your home garden.Oh how l dearly love the Lilac tree, the perfume, the tight little flowers all bundled into one tight bouquet so so beautiful and brings back many memories of when l was a child. We had Lilac trees scattered all around our village and we all looked forward to them blooming and l would take a bunch and give them to my nanna which she thought was wonderful. So thankyou for the memories ❤
Thank you so much for such a lovely message Joyce. It’s amazing how plants can invoke wonderful memories. I remember as a child having a lilac tree but I couldn’t remember the name until I noticed this one in our garden. The fragrance is just wonderful isn’t it 😁🌸
Hi Amir and family thank you for sharing your video it was lovely. It's important to remind ourselves not to get overwhelmed with so much to do in our gardens at this time of year but to enjoy the nature and beauty around us. Liz
Thank you Liz, so nice to hear from you. It can sometimes feel like I have too much going on, but when I see a wonderful flower pop up or the wildlife in my garden it just makes me feel satisfied and reminds me why I enjoy gardening so much 😊🌱
😂😂 glad I’m not the only one going flower crazy 😜. Glad to hear the dahlias can stay in the ground. Don’t like having to baby flowers too much. I have loads more glads I just put in ❤. Oh I can’t wait to see that new flower bed Amir it will be stunning. Seedlings are really looking healthy 💪, have a special week ahead and happy gardening 👩🌾, Ali 🥶🌞🇨🇦
I've read that you should prune lilac trees right after they've been blooming so that they bloom again the following year. That's what I've been doing and it worked. Maybe you can check that again.
As I watched you plant your lupine plant, I remembered the lupine that reseeded dozens of plants that came up in my bark pathways. Keep forgetting to dig them out and plant in my perennial beds. Will also pot them up for my gardening friends. I actually put reminder on my calendar for tomorrow morning. Too hot right now in my area of California... almost 80 degrees (26 degrees C). So enjoy your channel!
Amir, I’m actually focusing on adding more flowers into my garden this year! ❤ I always love seeing the color in your garden, and everyone else’s, so I’m diving in as well. Although I’m planting new bulbs and such this season, I’m most proud of the foxgloves I grew from seed last year, as they are HUGE this year, so I can’t wait for them to bloom! My father in law gave me seeds from his Lupines, so thanks for reminding me of that! As always, I enjoy your videos. They are super relaxing, and your kindness shines through, like you’re a nifty neighbor to have a nice cup of tea with and could just chat the afternoon away about gardening. 🥰 Can’t believe you’re a lawyer! Sounds stressful, lol. I’m a weekend gardener as well. I work 8-5 during the week, but I do attempt to get a task or two done when I get home. But priority is dinner and time with the family. ❤
Hello Sox, great to hear from you. I find no matter what our day job, gardening fits in perfectly as a stress reliever! I am enjoying things even more this year by sorting out my garden at home, I love stepping out of my back garden and seeing what’s growing. So having veg at home as well will be great! I am trying to sort veg beds as soon as 😁🌱
Assalamalikum, I hope you all are doing good. The garden is absolutely beautiful ❤ The flowers are mesmerising 😍 I love gardening too 😊 Stay blessed and happy always, ameen 💕
You can't have enough flowers in your garden/allotment, can you? I'm the same. Color Feast💐💐💐 And what transformation your garden at home are going through! You have been busy🐝🐜💪📝📐 It will be fun to follow the progress 🐔🐓 and polytunnel!
Thank you my friend, I really am excited for this year, will be interesting to see what happens in my allotment and my garden at home. At the moment I’m trying to get the beds in at home so I can at least make a start on growing some veg here. 😃👍🌱
Aslam-o-Alikum Hello my lovely 🤩 bro how are you have a nice day 💞 Another Most Beautifull video sharing 🤩 keep it up 😊 Stay connected Always be happy happy Like beautyful flowers 🌻🌹😊
This is an element I do not make enough of and its time I introduced more colour. When working full time its always hard to fit everything in especially with a young family.
Hello Mike, I just find the colour lifts the spirits. If there’s a disappointing harvest or an overgrown patch of weeds, it’s always nice to come across a distraction and spot some nice flowers 😁🌸🌱 I direct sow cosmos at this time of year and it never disappoints later in the season
Wow Amir the allotment will be a blaze of colour this summer. It will be stunning. I look forward to your garden development too. The plans sound great. Lovely to hear all your ideas for this year.
Thank you Tracey, it is really a buzz with the wildlife at the moment. My plot neighbour sent me a pic and said there were several bunnies chasing each other and playing on my plot this evening 😁🌱
Hey Amir, your plot is looking beautiful with all the colour. My Geums are just getting buds, as are my lilacs- you must be in a warmer part of the country than me. I'm in North Wiltshire. Talking of lilacs, I would prune straight after flowering as if left later in the year,as you are planning, you will prune away next years flower shoots. Your chicken house looks fabulous. I am sure your hens will love it. thank you for sharing. Happy gardening 🙂
Hi Be, we are in Gloucestershire, so neighbours really, it’s interesting how you can have micro climates. Thanks for the pruning advice, it’s great to learn new things on here.
Lovely video, Amir, as always! You inspired me to get some gladioli bulbs for the perennial border at the back of my yard. I enjoyed watching your video today, as I spent the morning and first part of the afternoon volunteering at my local zoo for their Earth Day event. It was freezing cold though! I had to retreat to the butterfly and reptile houses to warm up once or twice. I’m looking forward to seeing the progress both at your allotment and in your back garden!
You have been a busy bunny! You will love the gladiolus, I always find them great as cut flowers and they seem to attract less pests which it nice 😊 They get quite tall and just look lovely in the garden too
That will be a great home for your chickens and how exciting you will be having a polytunnel. I think your allotment is looking fab, maybe you had done more prep work this time last year but the weather has been really against us so we can only do what the weather allows. Great update and take care 😊
Thank you Bethan, I’m still working on persuading my wife to allow me to have a Polytunnel, she keeps saying my hobbies are expensive 😂 do I need one when I have the greenhouse at the allotment (it’s small) and I’m using the conservatory at home 😂🌱
Thanks bro, really appreciate your support. The reason I didn’t grow in my garden to start with it was full of wrong plants and trees, this year I’m removing them all then I will feel good about finally growing veg at home 😁🌱
That lilac is gorgeous. I prune mine right after it finishes blooming. The lilac I have sets its buds for the next year shortly after blooming. So that's the best time. You might want to check that out.
