I think the biggest taunt is offing yourself using a special, because it tells your opponent "I'm comfortable effectively nullifying my win, because I don't need any advantages to dominate you". Also, we need to start seeing team-effort taunts in competitive meta cuz those couple last ones in the video were brutal! "The boy band" will be haunting my dreams
Honestly, whenever I see someone accidentally kill themselves when they kill me it only makes me think that they’re a bad player lol. It’s happened before. I don’t think that those kind of taunts have the effect that people think they do lol

I actually purposefully splat myself if I splatted someone unfairly, like accidentally splatting someone who’s squid partying with other people or somehow getting someone despite them dodging. I didn’t even know it was a taunt until now.
@@BladeDevil The bigger they taunt, the bigger the embarrassment when they're killed. When someone does a taunt on me, it's only sorta funny. They're taking killing me once as a personal triumph. Like, I'll come back in 3 seconds. I feel it appropriate to celebrate only when you've not only won against the enemy but also against the odds, like a true gamer

If you hold Y (camera reset) your inkling model can turn to a greater degree and you can do a full turn around (this can be used to look towards and away from the kill feed).

beautiful. i wanna point something out, but if you ever squidparty with asian folks, and they accidentally splat you and then do the bomb throw pose and nod up and down, it's NOT a taunt lol, it's a bow of apology 😭 ive done that before on NA servers and the other person thought i was taunting them....
it's not very common in western countries so i don't blame them for not understanding, but in asian cultures especially in japan, it's a lot more of a common gesture so it's more widely understood. usually i find that the best apology to western players is to simply chuck yourself off the map... or at least look super confused if u can't make it to a ledge

I think shaking your head slowly at your opponent is actually the worst diss. Squidbagging is like "HA! I GOT YOU!!!" But shaking your head is like... "I'm disappointed that was so easy, you should be ashamed." One time I killed somebody doing a squid party and my teammate just slowly shook their head. Have not forgotten abt it since.
True it has a certain appeal that stright up squidbagging doesn't have

Sometimes when I do something crazy, I just woke left and right with my stick not believing what just happened or I get a normal kennel and I try and swing on way but it’s stuck in enemy ink and it makes them think I am squid flopping on it
