Your pictures at the end are super cute. I find it interesting that vintage Skipper has such a smaller body. I do collect Skipper but only have about 3, One old, super hard ,straight leg gal, and one with softer legs but she's missing half a foot! I also have the one in the red swim suit. I keep an eye in the thrift stores but they don't show up often. I also had one from the 80's that had abundant curly hair, I ended up giving her to someone. The comparison is fun and interesting and gets me thinking. I usually ignore the modern Barbie aisle in the store, but a gander might not hurt as you did well with your new gal! Lucky you for having a little Skipper collection. Yes, there are some pretty cool new Barbies right now. I've been getting back into these dolls but trying to not go crazy buying them all. I have my second vaccine dose next week so look forward to getting back out and doll thrifting again

I hadn't realized but, I think you are right, I do not recall seeing fashion packs for Skipper in recent years. They can wear certain Barbie clothes though. I have 4 Skippers in my collection. The oldest one is from 1986 I think. I actually just compared 3 of them and noticed that indeed, Skipper has become considerably taller in recent years - I guess she grew up! hahaha Also, your comment about her babysitting was hilarious. Interesting I didn’t know a Blythe body was so similar to a Skipper’s body. Btw this is easily one of my favorite Blythe dolls, those blue eye chips are so pretty and I love her tan skin

vintage Skipper seems to be younger than the new one. If I remember correctly, Vintage Skipper is about 12, but that new one looks like she is in high school, maybe 15ish.
Yeah, Skippy started a Babysitter Club business with her friends in the animated series. So babysitting and surfing is all she does right now. She an annoying preteen also lol. She did DJ in one episode
I have a few Skippers but sold a lot of them when cutting down my collection. I have the same vintage one as you as well as a blonde and a brunette. Not so keen on the contemporary Skippers I guess because they look so different to how Skipper used to look.
Wow i love your vintage skipper. I do like the older lines... Have you ever got the creatable world dolls? For the fashion alone they're so worth the price! I think some would fit blythe.
Yes I 've done a few videos of them trying their clothes (th-cam.com/video/EIYNlbcGle0/w-d-xo.html) and shoes (th-cam.com/video/2YnohRVgsHM/w-d-xo.html) on various types of Blythe doll bodies. I've also body swapped the dolls, but I actually like them "as is" as well and just bought a new one I need to open up.
