Model railroading is great up north in your basement when this 5 ft of snow on the ground outside. I remember in the newspapers the stores would advertise train sets for sale for Christmas. I have a flu of them in my scrapbook. I remember trains in the windows even when the stores were closed the trains would still be running and you would stand out there all bundled up against the snow standing in the snow just watching the train. One guy had a train on display in the window that was the old TT gauge.
Oh wow, someone else remembers! I grew up in the northern New Jersey suburbs and can remember the downtown area stores having trains running in the windows. I remember going to a hardware store with my father when I was six years old (1959) around Christmas time and seeing the wall behind the counter LOADED with trains! REALLY impressed me, to say the least!
Another great video.....I told you that I look forward to seeing all the great work you do. Look forward to seeing you next Spring in Allentown again and in the Fall 2023 in both Allentown and York. Will keep watching for your great work. Happy Holidays to you.
Shawn, you saved my Sunday night! I don't have time to watch the whole show now but I WILL later! There's nothin' on tonight. Crazy, 350 cable channels and nothin's on! Hey, your VIP pass is living indication nice guys DO finish first! It must be nice to be recognized like that!
Thanks for this. Have heard of the Allentown show for years but never went. I'm older than you, so primarily into postwar sets, but your video shows the first frost show is worth seeing. I'll make the drive from Akron Ohio.
Thank You I declare it's a Holliday of the sort indeed and I always find something a Allentown! How could you not something for everyone First Frost or the Spring Thaw!!
Wish the west coast towns had more train shows like this. I tried to go to one at a church but got there to late by 25 minutes, infact got there when the last car was packing up and I thought i got there a little early. Amazing document video
You could always use my videos to go shopping. More dealers are displaying signs and business cards at their tables now because they realize that social media works. See something that you want to buy in my videos? Call them up and let them know you saw it on Dakman Productions TH-cam video. Most ship across the country.
Shawn, This was the Allentown train show, Not the Allentown O Gauge train show, I was at this show and there was more then just O gauge there, If your going to show a train show to the public try showing every thing not just O gauge
@@Dakman Thanks! I will. Don't get me wrong...I grew up with my Dad's Marx set when I was really young...so I do appreciate it...but I primarily grew up with my HO sets.
Walking through the Doors of a Train show Puts a Big Smile On My face.
I believe it does for everyone
The first time I walked into a train show I staggered and my head swam! For a minute or two anyway. Sometimes it still does!
Ah Yes the Power of Being Traintarded.
It Does for My wife and I.

Great film Shawn. This show was loaded with goodies. Always a pleasure to view things up close. The music is a nice touch also. 👍

You are welcome. There were plenty of post war for sale.

Nice Job Shawn

Love it Shawn; good to see your still around.
Thanks much
Shawn who had the American freedom train Steam Engine … I couldn’t figure it out from your video?
I'm not sure at this point myself. Alot of private sellers with no information on their tables
Shawn, This was the Allentown train show, Not the Allentown O Gauge train show, I was at this show and there was more then just O gauge there, If your going to show a train show to the public try showing every thing not just O gauge
Nice vid....but it appears that it was primarily an "O' gauge show....as I saw little to "HO" gauge.....
You are correct. It's mainly O gauge and some HO. If you like HO check out my videos from the Great Scale Train Show in Timonium Maryland

I o scale
Where's the good stuff, the HO?
I had others ask for HO from Allentown as well. Next time I go back I will try to get HO footage as well.
