I saw that the KDMAS is only $120 USD now, and you said you made the audio sound better by using the included splitter. Do you think the KDMAS is worth it for $120 USD instead of getting the Vive DAS?

FYI, I know you've stopped following Pimax as close, but there are three MAS straps. The MAS, which is the directional tiny speakers (not over ear). There is the KDMAS (Kickstarter deluxe MAS), which is only for older headsets, which has lower impedance speakers, because the older headsets didn't have sufficient power to drive much. Then there is the DMAS, the deluxe MAS, which is on the website - it's as yet unreleased and supposed to have "premium" sound quality, but it's only compatible with the newer headsets. The KDMAS is on ear, the DMAS will be hover over ear.

i hope they don't use same lense as pimax 5k. every ipd adjustment i do, it feels like im wearing somebody prescription lense and looking through it due to the poor lense quality

I have the original 8k and just received the deluxe audio strap. Its so so bulky. After playing the quest 2 its night and day as regards bulkiness. No wires with the quest 2. im tempted to sell my pimax
@@MarcReisSyllogism It was a joke... Mocking the fact that Pimax actually managed to delay for 3 years to get the whole package to the backers. They shipped the HMDs after one year (10 months delayed), then they shipped the Base stations and controllers from Valve (yes the ones they didn't develop) after 2 years and a half and finally, they now appear to be shipping (??? not sure if they actually do. I got a tracking number and my box is still not delivered to FedEx) the last part which mainly consists of cushions and an audio strap! RECAP... it took them 3 years to develop a face cushion! I think I am entitled to make jokes about that.
A bit late to the party, but I thought I'd give my two cents. The KDMAS is a mixed bag. For me, comfort at the back of the head is lacking a bit, but it's still useable. It's really annoying how the speakers can't move out or rotate in. But unlike you, I have the opposite problem when it comes to the speakers; I have way too much bass with the pads on. With the pads off, there's no mids and it's way too quiet. Since I have Voicemeeter, I just adjust the EQ on the output and run everything through voicemeeter (at the cost of latency). See, Pimax doesn't suffer from BAD audio, they suffer from INCONSISTENT audio/Quality Control issues in general. It's either amazing, or just terrible. Take the microphone. My mic sounds great except for having a lot of interference that I have to filter out. Thrillseeker's 5k Super has an absolutely terrible mic and I think one of your headsets also has a similar issue. In short, no one who buys a Pimax should expect it to work 100% straight out of the box. If you can handle that, then go ahead. Otherwise, look elsewhere.
the top headstrap does not fit in the slit of my my pimax5k+! There is a plastic piece with 4 screws that come with the kit that can fit the headstrap but I cannot find any way to attach that piece to the headset. Please help?
When I placed my order for my 8kx last January I ordered with the deluxe modular audio strap but on receiving my 8kx only about a month ago it came with only the standard modular audio strap.. Believe it or not shortly after receiving my 8kx I had an accident and was injured and haven't been able to test it yet but I'm about to do that soon.. I'm expecting the audio quality of the standard modular audio strap to be poor but are you saying the audio quality of the deluxe modular audio strap (with suspended speakers similar to the valve index) is poor too? The dmas was sold to be as good a quality as, if not better, as the valve index audio but you're saying it isn't at all or the kdmas is different to the dmas quality ? Is the audio quality different with the over ear kdmas headphones as opposed to suspended speakers the dmas is supposed to be? Thanks

I work at the Retirement Home and I was thinking to use VR glasses for the elderly, to help them to have fun, experience, see places, 360 videos, and maybe to play a simple game. I was thinking to use maybe 10 VR glasses at the same time. Is it possible to control the VR view externally, for example with a smartphone or a computer? Do you have any suggestions on which glasses would be suitable for this purpose? Thank you
Just got it in and i wish i looked at these reviews first. Its more less makes the headset unusable for me as the shaking of the headset banging against my nose whenever i move is really annoying and starts to hurt really quickly to fix this you need to crush your frontal lobe with the strap. The headphones sound like a pair of headphones i would pick up from the local supermarket 8 years ago so that that shows the quality is beyond shit on them. Not a worth while buy
Just got my 8KX yesterday with KDMAS. The headstrap is awful. It is wobbly, unstable, and at a level of quality you would not accept for a unit of this price. Since the wobbliness can really cause issues with the visuals, you have to tighten it really hard to immobilize it on your head, which also causes strain overall. I'm kind of baffled to tell you the truth. The worst thing about these units is that in most cases, you can't test them before you order them and you have to come to these discoveries after spending a whole lot of money.
To add to that, I also received a DMAS with the right speaker that wasn't working. I had to revert to the KDMAS that came attached by default. So now we can add bad quality control to the lot for Pimax.

I cant confirm that. I received an email from Pimax that I should Check the Audio jack connection because there should be much more bass.

Supposed to be getting my kdmas tomorrow. Real shame the sound sucks but wasnt expecting much. As long as the strap is good it's ok for free.

For what it's worth, I bought the Vive deluxe audio strap, printed the adapters and installed it on the 8KX. NIGHT AND DAY DIFFERENCE for stability!
