Really appreciate the time, effort and quality of your content Joe. Looking forward to this season and the new format with the outro is a great way to wrap the vid. Cheers
Hope you refueled your creative batteries while taking a break for your last film/edit Joe. Good to see you back again with a stonka vid. These self film/hunts are hard work.
I did things a little differently this year, I have filmed all my season's content and now going to edit them all together. Instead of editing in between hunts. This time I smashed out all the filming back to back and now time to create the films. I hope your going well bro, it was probably 15 years ago when we were on the hunt forums together aye
You put together a first class show/video. Huge kudos to you! So envious of what you do, and where you do it. I’ve hunted here in Canada for the last 25 yrs, taken some nice animals, just wished I could have started earlier when I still had the physical ability. Looking forward to this season coming in Sept, most of it will be in Nov. Got an elk, a moose, and Whitetail and Muledeer tags.
This channel is my favorite hunting channel for sure. Amazing country you have there. I am excited to hear more about this season. Thanks for the quality content!
Love the channel! One day, I will get to New Zealand to hunt. Living in the US, it is fun to watch the diversity of animals that NZ has to offer. The hunts look amazing, as does the landscape. Love it all
great content i listen to your podcast, i lost my grandfather two years ago. he was a hunter from central north island listening to you reminds me of him and all his stories thankyou 😃also great clear shots your camera is great !!
Awesome vid mate and what an epic animal. I’ve only just begun my hunting journey, recently doing a beginner hunting course. Lots to learn but can’t bloody wait. I’ll have to get over to NZ on a hunt one day!
Thanks man and thats cool to hear your getting into it, last time we spoke you mentioned you were interested to learn, I will see you here one day no doubt
Glad to hear it mate that's awesome, yeah I generally spend 6 months or so filming for this channel and have just started to release the videos I've filmed so far. Say hi to your boys for me

Good to see a JE video pop up on my feed! always loved the JE WILDS hunting and fishing hats. Went to NZ recently and popped in with fingers crossed to find one, but no luck. Loved the place
Does anyone else hold their breath when Joe's about to pull the trigger or is it just me haha Awesome vid mate. Looking forward to the next one !! (Outro is a great idea too!)
Man hearing that intro made me so happy, missed the vids brother and can't wait for all these new projects you got coming up! Getting me hyped for getting out and doing more photography every time I see a video!
So stoked to see the stag videos are back! Planning for my first hunt ever this year, I appreciate all the tips you include along with the effort that goes into these videos! On a side note, do you ever show the process of packing the stag out? With your pack filled for a days worth of goods i'm curious how you fit that large of animal into the pack. Does it take multiple trips or is there a technique to fit all the meat without needing an empty pack? Keep up the great work Joe, another amazing video! Cheers!
Thanks man I appreciate it! I dont show the video of me processing any meat as yt does not like that type of footage which sucks! Generally it takes me multiple loads for the meat but if its a colder time of year I space those loads out over a couple days
Thanks for sharing this epic journey and reminding us all of the rewards that come with persistence and passion. Can’t wait to see what’s next on your channel!
Brilliant video, exceptional detail of NZ's wilderness. And what a stag! Back straps must have been close to 1mtr long (each). Really appreciate your commentary, isn't too much, great you dont have music blaring, just good natural sounds in the hills. Well done!
What a great shot and a well deserved and earned monster stag. Can’t wait to see the West Coast hunt. Really admire your determination to achieve success
Man, I've waited so long for this video and it didnt disappoint. Bloody awesome mate. Would love to get a closer look at that big boy you couldn't get to, he looked epic.
Theres plenty more on the way, I know ive been slow on the uploads but ive been filming my hunts since March to get a good backlog of footage. Now its the editing time!
Wow! Very cool trip! I have hunted and fished my whole life. Your hunts help me re-live my hunting and fishing trips and bring back so many memories! I have been in Hawaii for 20 yrs., Idaho for 25 yrs., Alaska for 5 yrs., and now am in Washington state for the last 12 yrs.. I say you gotta build memories!!! Thanks for sharing yours and doing what you do!🤙🔥 BTW Good to see the family. At the rate that kid is growing, it will soon be able to tag along with you and Katherine cause I took my 2 girls and even now in their late 30's they mention those days with a smile on their face... Good job and keep up the good work! I love your story telling way. Looking forward to the next one... always!!
Hi Joe, another epic video, love the way and locations that you hunt in. The podcasts are top draw too. Ive been to your beautiful country, but alas didn't hunt. When I return I definitely will. The hunting and fishing stores are amazing too. Got my hoodie that I wear all the time fishing. Keep up the amazing work. Stay safe man. Jamie, England.
Hey Joe, absolutely awesome video, hanging for the mini series now but in saying that all your videos are exceptional 🍻 hope Katherine and bubs are going great👏👏
Greetings from Sausalito, California. Breathtaking beauty in those mountains. My Northern Calif hunting environment is very different, but many thanks for taking me along on your hunt. I learned, again, the virtue of patience. What GPS do you use to trackback to your camp and landing site?
Haha was seeing a few reels on instagram and wondered if you were back. Been hanging out for your videos. Love your style and enthusiasm. Looking forward to the season 🤙🤙
Welcome back!! Have been missing the hunting episodes 👌 you've definitely put the NZ hunting trip on my bucket list! I just need to go back and tick off the great white dive, then I'll be booking a trip. Cheers!

I much enjoy your videos JE. Hunting has changed quite a bit since I hunted in the 1960s and 70s when there was no internet, no digital photography, no cell phones, no voicemail, no GPS, no range-finders, no LED lights, no locator beacons, and very very few helicopters flew recreational hunters around. We hunters tramped for days sometimes to get into remote blocks, and then usually had no communications with the outside world because 2-way radios back then were heavy beasts needing heavy long wire aerials, all of which most hunters did not bother with. My NZ hunting memoir RED DEER WRITING has recently become available in a NZ-edited, NZ-published (by Opaoa Publishing), 2023 edition, available from all NZ book shops, and if they don’t have it in stock they will order it for you.
Love watching your videos as someone who doesn't have access to the landscape you have. Would also love to see how you strip and move the stag after it's been shot (if youtube allows it)
I was missing your vids, good to see a new one.....obviously a good hunt is a day or 4, but the time to edit and produce the finished video must be a huge amount of hours!. My wifey is from Hari Hari and that's where I hunt for my animals....really looking forward to the upcoming West Coast episodes mate.
