I dont think any world championship match compares to this one when it comes to the intense emotions, controversy, politics. How it was even possible to play such a match with the mindset of both players and the atmosphere.
@@evgeni-nabokov It's intensive but nothing compares to this match. When Fischer made his run and won the title the Russians didn't hate Fischer. They knew who he was. A juggernaut. And they with reluctance accepted that. The Russians " HATED!!! " Korchnoi. The people I met, books I read about this match! I thought they were making it up but a lot of the stories were true. Their second match was hardly like the first. Karpov had become to strong so there was hardly the tension of the first match.
@@krynnlehoffburrfoot5971 Spassky and Fischer did not dislike each other. Fischer was fighting the Russian system. Fischer and Tal were very good friends too. The Russians didn't hate Fischer. But they hated Korchnoi!

Great clear historical video coverage. Love the renowned sunglasses and no handshake between them!
This is the end of the match. The sunglasses were long gone.
Karpov was like a rock star back then
Muy cierto. Lo comprobe en la Olimpiada en Buenos Aires unos meses mas tarde

@@niranjannair3633 no, it was not karpovs physio. it was dr.suchar, a para-psychologic.
