  • Jeffrey J. Kripal, the J. Newton Rayzor Professor of Philosophy and Religious Thought at Rice University and organizer of the international conference "Archives of the Impossible: Transnationalism, Transdisciplinarity, Transcendence", led a panel discussion during the conference titled "The Impossible and Film." The May 11-13, 2023 event at Rice featured speakers and panelists who set out to demystify the paranormal through their research and experiences regarding metaphysics, UFOs and much more.
The Impossible and Film discussants included documentary filmmaker Brad Abrahams; Stuart Davis, an artist working in film, television and music; and producer and writer Kevin Lincoln.
Brad Abrahams' all-consuming interests in weird science, marginalized subcultures and the nature of belief inspire his stories. He is most known for his cult-hit film “Love and Saucers”, about alien abductee and romancer David Huggins. He is currently in production on feature films and series about conspiracy theorists, cryptozoologists, forbidden archaeology and a scripted Sasquatch abduction story. He is also a correspondent for the Qanon Anonymous conspiracy culture podcast. Sadly, he has not yet had a supernatural experience.
Stuart Davis wrote and directed the TV series "Sex, God, Rock 'n Roll," has released 20 albums of original music, and wrote numerous screenplays currently in development, including "Dead Girl Walking" and the "Mantis" trilogy. His podcast "Aliens and Artists" explores how contact with non-human entities impacts human creativity.
Kevin Lincoln is co-executive producer of UFO, a four- episode documentary series for Showtime from J.J. Abrams' Bad Robot; CAT PEOPLE, a six-episode documentary series for Netflix; and THE BOND, a four-episode documentary series for Discovery+ from Robert Downey, Jr. and Susan Downey's Team Downey. He also produced FOUR SEASONS TOTAL DOCUMENTARY, an inside look at the Four Seasons Total Landscaping press conference that was released by MSNBC Films. Previously, he worked as a senior editor at New York magazine, and he has written for publications including the New York Times Magazine, GQ, The Wall Street Journal and Rolling Stone.
