Who's brave enough to share how much they've spent on their shop?
Dewalt 735, Bosch 2.5 hp router + plunge base + guide, Wen Track Saw (it's great IF you do 90's only), dewalt drills, drivers, 1000's of 3m 710w discs from 80 to 320 (amazing). 10" jobsite dewalt saw (14 years old), 3hp belt driven craftsmen 10" tablesaw from 80s/90s (200$ used) with a delta t square fence. That fence alone was more than the saw when I looked it up.
Bunch of odds and ends, I dunno math is hard.

That depends on if you're counting the credit card interest 😂
@@empressofkale I paid it on credit, got points and paid off in full. Every couple of months I'd get something, as I made money I'd buy something else.
Oh man, mine starts with my toolbox from when I was a professional automotive technician. The replacement cost on the box and tools is just over $10k. The last few years were rough financially, so I just had the cheap bright green tool brand from the big orange store. Someone this fall decided to liberate all of my cordless tools for their own use, that was about $2000 alone. Ironically, they didn't steal any of the expensive stuff, just literally ALL of the cheap cordless stuff. Every last piece.
Spring has just sprung here and I'm stuck with 'which platform do I go with' paralysis.
I'm thinking based on what I have planned as far as projects this summer, I'm probably looking at $2 to $3k in (new) woodworking tools. Mostly to replace the cheap ones I have left.

I've only spent about 4-5K. But all of that to support me doing projects around the house. So the tools and shop have more than paid for themselves

I really like the vacuum hose suspension jig you came up with. It's an effective and inexpensive solution to a problem that can be annoying to deal with. Thank you for making this video.

Great idea with the cabinets. I’m near a big city. There are a number of used office furniture dealers. I’ll need to check them out. My miter saw station build is way past due.

Good video man like it also like the way you hang your dust extractor hose. My shop 16x36 portable building a bought I'm roughly 9k in on tools ( most of that on pcs sawstop) still saving for bandsaw and better jointer have a bench top but I'm outgrowing it.
Most shops are ever evolving, I know mine is, lol

$8000 with $20,000 more in my amazon cart ... however most of my tools have gone up in value .. my bandsaw , drill press and air compressor ( among others )

The file cabinets are a great idea! I recently went through this to get coverage for insurance and not including my CNC I'm a little north of 45K. Including my CNC, a little north of 70K. That said, its cheaper than a boat, RV or sports car!

My shop is 24X24.. I wished I had a better set up, but I was in a hurry to start building and I did not put too much thought into the organization.
I have roughly $17,00 into my shop with a CNC router coming shortly..
I know I need to have a dust collection system for my shop, but for the time being.. Shop Vacs.. LOL

Watch out for the insulation panels on garage. The springs on top will get stressed and snap. I had to get 2 garage door springs replaced to a heavier duty version to support the extra weight. Weight you say? Yes, they don’t seem like much but throw 16 of them in there and it is I guess.

Those are Herman Miller Tu series file cabinets. They ran $400 new. I used to work for an Architecture firm that had these same cabinets. You got a good deal on them!

This is really random and I only know this because I have the exact same file cabinet from my Father-in-law, but I think the file cabinets are "Trace Series" file cabinets from Great Openings in Graphite.

We watch video's to learn and get ideas. We don't need to know how big the shop is, how much money they paid for tools, or how much money they made last year. 80% of people viewing the video's can't afford everything, so they watch to get ideas or help. Thanks for the other video's you do.

Curious as to why you like 11’ ceilings? I am in the process (slowly😂) off turning part of my pole shed into a wood shop that has 12’ ceilings. I was thinking 12’ was too high because it’s a lot of extra space to heat/cool, but you made a favorable comment about 11’ ceilings. Why is that?
It’s really nice when handling material. If you are carrying in a 8 foot sheet of plywood and want to flip it up to stand it up, you probably need at least 10 feet. It’s also great for storage. There a lot more wall space. And I don’t like feeling cramped. Hope that helps 👍
