I do NOT endorse any politics in the vide, it is for entertainment purposes only. Idk if you'll read this, but I plugged the state populations into a Google sheet I have in which it calculates the amount of electoral votes. The amount of congressional districts are a little different from what you calculated, so imma leave the link for you to look at if you want. Anyway, great video as always, my correction is not a stab at you in any way, just something that I happened to be very interested atm lol.

3:15 A terrorist slips through the border and goes on mass shooting spree in an orphanage. Canada knew about the plot and due to some legal loophole didn't inform the US. Mass outrage at the Canadian government from both sides of the border and a catastrophic trade war causes independence referendums all over the country. They try make it on the own for a while before being folded into the US one by one.

One group of Canadians are already defacto American citizens. All First Nations people and Inuit may live and work in the USA as if they were citizens, a consequence of the Jay Treaty of 1795. The United States could unilaterally extend this right to all Canadian citizens without annexing any part of the country. Any Canadian who wanted to be an American could just move here any time they want and stay as long as they want without filling out immigration papers, like First Nations and Inuit people already can.

Our government would be surprised to know how many Canadians like myself would want to integrate... I'm surprised Canada was at least not a sovereign state/territory a long time ago. There's been many many reasons why Canadians always wanted to become Americans for generations. But, honestly, if Canada did become part of the United-States, easily half of the population would move to warmer weather within a week. Canada would then mainly be only land continuing extracting resources and energy.
Please Americans, let us become Americans! At least us that do want to become American because honestly, for us being literally neighboring countries sharing most of our interests, ways of life, products and entertainment we consume and enjoy, it is far too difficult to apply for an American citizenship compared to Americans that move to Canada.

As a Canadian I would support joining the U.S and there's lots that would support it here in Canada. The argument Canada would be all democratic is false. We have lots of Conservative people up here who would love to finally have 1st and 2nd Amendment rights which we don't currently.

I'm American and would love for you guys to join us. Maybe you could teach us a thing or too about social benefits and we could finally have the money and power to fund them. And the economic might and military power of both countries would ensure we could get what we want on the world stage. And, culturally we are the same, even the French speakers. Yeah, Canada is more liberal, but I think it would balance out with free migration of citizens. And, I don't think it would be right to make Canadians "Americans" but rather we both become citizens of a new name so we can keep our pride. Honestly, it would make sense for all of the former UK colonies to join together as a loose country with somewhat independent governments. But imagine the benefits of free trade, combined military, and free migration from place to place

It would be the state of Moose. But seriously this wouldn't work unless the Canadians supported it and they wouldn't. But it is a strange way that could happen. Here is my more realistic scenario. Quebec decides to pull out of Canada when Trudeau is still able to hold onto power. There is a massive fight when Trudeau tries to get the military to crush Quebec. Liberals rise and try to fight with Trudeau but all they do is cause chaos. Canada collapses and begs for help. After a narrow vote, any part of Canada that has an eight-percent majority vote to join is allowed into the Union. Overwhelmingly, the Canadians vote for order over chaos. Note: This is still an alternate reality, but that is the only path I see.

Quebec almost joined the US into their revolt against the British and could have became a state or an allied nation in 1774, But with the sheer manpower of the british army against the patriots revolt got crushed during a winter snow storm at Saint-Eustache. So we remained alligned with the loyalist who adopted ''Canada'' as their country as well. I never forgot as a Quebecois the 3 letters and 2 attempts by the Americans to drive back the British army from our nation, in fact we may not speak english as a primary language, but we have more in commons with the Americans than the Loyalist Canadians who wanted to remain a vassal colony of the British Empire who later collapsed.
Our retirements investments are mostly into the US stock exchange, half of our daily products are from the US and we use the same platforms to communicate.... I always wondered why Canadians prefer to remain a loyal colonny to the Brits rather than seek close relations and unify with the US.

I have a theory that if Canada were to experience a severe economic depression, it could result in a large number of freeloaders leaving the country, potentially reducing the population by five to ten million people. The majority of those leaving would likely be old stock Canadians, who are fourth generation or more, and tend to lean heavily towards the side of freedom. This exodus would not make America more liberal, but rather more conservative and freedom-loving. It could even lead to the ratification of the American Constitution in place of the Canadian Charter of Rights, especially in light of the way Justin Trudeau handled the situation with the truckers. Additionally, they would be stuck with a socialist debt that the left has left them with, making it easier to spread it across 400 million people. Moreover, Canada would be a strategic asset to have access to resources.

Not much would change. The US economy is 13 times larger than Canada’s. And that gap grows wider every year. If Canada was a state it would be the poorest, behind even Mississippi. Canada already exports almost all of its raw resources to America
So Canada joining the US would only have the effect of marginally increasing America’s economic power by about 7%. Taking US GDP in 2024 from the current $29.3 Trillion to $31.5 Trillion with Canada included
But Canada has insanely high cost of living relative to incomes and very low fertility rates. Canada’s GDP growth is quite bad, GDP Per Capita has been negative to 6 straight quarters and productivity growth has been nearly 0 for the past few years
So Canada would really only be a burden to the US and would probably slow down America’s booming economic growth and productivity growth

The territories would have to merge into another state. No states below 500k/lowest population state currently. If you don't have at minimum 500k, no statehood you have to join one of the other states. As for ontario break it up, no letting that behemoth blue state into union, cut off the conservatives of it and form a second state, or if needs be add them to the swing state to form a solid conservative state to help balance it. Without doing this the only way the east could join usa would be under a democrat, Republicans would push for western states to join union, but never the eastern ones of canada.

Conquest through economic greatness instead of a hostile takeover would cement the USA as the nation we claim to be. If we make the USA as great as it possibly can be, they'll want to adopt our ways (whilst maintaining their own national identity) and we will blend over time, until we can't tell the difference. That's as American as i can get when it comes to western values and philosophies. Our ideology and accomplishments already make us the shining beacon of freedom for the world. When we clean house and show our glow up. Others will follow suit. We won't be doing it for them. It will fall in the favor of the USA as the beating heart of it all.

You guys are too concentrated on sensationalist news. Things are going pretty well in Canada on the most part. We’re not going to collapse that’s funny! Trump rolled back the tarifs in 2018 because it was making him look bad in the US with large corporations. He was cutting into their profits with no actual benefit for americans. Everything started costing more and it was noticeable to americans. He was forced to pull back. This time around it’s posturing again. Putting tarifs on Canadian goods is like cutting off your own arm.. when folks notice that ford f150 jumps from 60k to 80k. He’s find an excuse to remove the tariffs like the last time. There’s no trade deficit, that’s made up. Sometimes it’s the us that buys less, sometimes it’s Canada. It’s pretty much equal. Also. Canada has 10times les people. Thus Canadians buy a lot more per house from the US than americans do. We are the US largest customer. canada is the primary destination for export for 30 states. Putting tarifs is just plain stupid. That’s why the Canadians are not panicking as much as the us media likes to portray it.

Canadians would despise this. And an annexation occurring so swiftly under an unwilling populace is quite possibly the worst kind of move you can make as a leader on both ends.
1:29 you mention it being supported among party lines but I feel the exact opposite would transpire. Republicans & Democrats wouldn't want an ungodly massive population increase to occur in the tens of millions, including Canada's very large immigrant population. Repubs especially, considering the more left-leaning stance Canadians tend to have politically, and Democrats likely perceiving it as imperialist. The E.U even has currency integration yet federalism remains a far-off dream, this is even more so.
If Canada ever joins the union, it will be a multi-decade long movement and occurrence.

Annexing any region of a country is a very long, delicate process. Doing it too quickly would instantly prove chaotic among both populations and that can go REALLY bad. Having lived in the USA for 15 years it was extremely easy to make good money because their is economy is so huge. Also freedom. It was the first time in my life that I experienced what freedom meant. Canada goes out of its way to erect cages to block the ambitions of its citizens. I met Mexicans who came to the USA when I did in '97. Most are wealthy, if not outright millionaires. I had to return to Canada after my work visa expired and the oil and gas projects ended. Here I remain, no work anywhere as I was too old to retrain. Zero socialized medicine as most doctors moved to the USA for much better pay. Lots of snow to dig out of. Not the future I wanted and it will be even worse for those generations following me. Canada doesn't work as a country for many reasons. It could be fixed if Trudeau would allow 100 million skilled Europeans to become citizens, but he hates all whites unless they are French.

Facts: (1) the Canadian economy is 10% the size of the US economy. (2) 80% of Canada's GDP is generated in the "triangle" of Toronto-Montreal-Ottawa and the remaining 20% is the Calgary to Vancouver market. The rest of Canada is like combining Alaska with Nebraska. (3) In the "triangle" there are a lot of American business's who moved plants into Ontario to benefit for lower labor costs. Additionally, the triangle has a very diverse mix of industries that are centrally located, thus it's a good business environment. (4) The unknowns (for me): how much does Canada depend upon China for manufactured products or component parts? That's also a big problem within the US! Canada has notoriously high taxes to support to "healthcare program" and other liberal benefits doled out by their 'big government'. How would that be dealt with in a merger? Their military is of no significance. It would bring nothing to "the party" and it's more land we'd have to defend (much of it an uninhabited frozen wilderness). The oil and natural gas industry in Canada merging with that inside the USA could be very beneficial. We'd inherit the "Quebec Problem". In reality, I don't think it'll ever happen. In 2025 Trudeau will be booted from office and replaced. Trump will cut some sort of trade deal with Canada (which is all the US really wants).
