Anyone ever feel like Paul Walker was the glue to the franchise? He made everyone feels happy on set and kept the franchise a bit more realistic. After he’s gone, people start to fight with each other. The movies started to become way more boring and illogical. Reminded me of an interview during Furious 6 he did with Jordana when he said he preferred to keep some level headed car action and races in the movie just like how they started. I doubt anyone can stand up to say that nowadays. Paul is probably the only one who can fight and argue with Vin without Vin wanting to exert his alpha dominance. RIP Paul Walker 😢
Literally as soon as the video mentioned that considers himself the king of the franchise I immediately was like " what about Paul ". And you can tell Paul was the glue because once he passed the series really started going downhill as if the story wasn't afterthought to the action. R.I.P to Paul.

I mean, is like he is writing the stories to be the coolest, alpha guy and trying to prove something to the world or to himself. Then comes the Rock with more experience, more fanbase, more professionalism and he just steals the show without effort. This posts calling him "little brother" and capitalizing on his own kids and even Paul´s memory seemed like something an egomaniac would do. I am possitive the Rock has a lot og ego also but he is more professional and it just doesn´t seem so far off or ridiculous. At this moment they can call the franchise "ode to Vin" or "excuse to make Viesen look cool" instead of fast and furious. This guy has to lose once, to be more human, to let others shine also and I am positive the last chapters will be enormously better

Vin on the other hand started his career as a mma fighter and a bouncer. Granted his fighting never amounted to much, but he was a bouncer for many years. Then there’s the background on these two. The rock by all accounts came up in a pretty normal home, vin did not. It’s a good possibility that vin has a serious violent streak in him, and if that true, he understands ACTUAL violence. And I’m sorry but if you have dealt with actual violence then you know how dangerous that is. A vet may not look like much, but trust me if that vet has been in combat, he is far more dangerous then most can possibly imagine.

Word. I think Vin is used to getting his way, whether right or wrong, because the main actors of this series don't have Hollywood beating down their doors for other movies. Neither does Vin really. He hasn't made much of anything besides these movies and voicing Groot for a long time. So his view of control may work with all of them, or there may be a franchise loyalty they all have, but DJ has a ton of options and doesn't need to work where he isn't happy.
