One of the hardest things is if you're a man and have been a victim when you were younger. I'm 33, and it's been more than 20 years and sometimes it still makes me feel like I'm less of a man.

This was a good video! I remember when I believed in God; I found incredible comfort in this song. I am happy, even not believing in God, but I am happy that it brought me happiness at one point in time.
When I hear this song it makes me cry because my daughter was abuse by her father and she is still trying to recover,her mental health is extremely hard ,she needs help but won't let anyone help her ☹️
This is one of the most powerful songs I've ever heard. I'm surprised that Amy Grant took the situation to heart so closely, am surprised that Amy Grant was so motivated to create this song.
I believe that people can recieve healing physically, mentaly, emotionaly, and spiritually. I believe that anything and everything that has been stolen, peace of mind, innocence, or even confidence and anything else can be given back because God is giving and caring. He created the whole world, people, life, animals, and everything else that is good and I believe that since He creates, He can also resore our bodies to the state they are ment to be. Did He not die to make us pure?

*** I have found that the ONLY peace I ever knew was when I asked Jesus to help me. I felt love like no other. He has kept me from suicide. He has helped me more than any human can. He has some supernatural love that cannot be described totally. It is not church...it is Jesus alone. I would suggest Him to anyone hurting and whose lives have been devestated in any way.

God does not "do" abuse. It is misleading to state that he does everything for a reason. He allowed man to have a free will and unfortunately man is evil and does abuse. Be thankful you don't know what it is like. God is just as upset as the person being abused. He comes alongside to comfort and help the broken hearted and he has a special place in his heart for the broken hearted. He can use what has happened to a person after they have received his healing but he didn't cause the abuse.

God does every thing for a reason, no matter how horriffic it may seem or horendous it is. And he uses them to bring us closer to him. I may not know what its like but I know that I dont Want to ever be there

I love this song b/c it's so powerful. The words are so simple, yet there's such profound meaning & intense emotion behind it. God is the message of hope and love & He's always right there with you, mercy in the middle.

@TopangaFilms I dont' want justice. Not the way most people look at it. I want to be able to look at her without remembering the day she almost killed me. I don't want her to suffer for it. I want to stop suffering myself. not pass it on to her.
Every time I hear this song, I think of the victims of the Penn State molestation scandal. I know, the victims were all boys and this song is about a molested girl. To that I say, to-MAY-toe meet toh-MAHT-oe. All tears are the same. I wonder how the victims are recovering now.
@shaloneithne I am sorry, I didn't state that clearly. What I ment to say by justice was not a worldy justice but a kind that is fulfilled by God. God sees all and He knew you went through those painful times so when I say you should claim your justice, I mean you have the right to peace of mind. YOu have the right to forgivness. You have a wound that needs healing and God is ready. I ment because Satan stole your peace and you desireve it back. Look up Katie Souza on TH-cam. She will explain.

God never steals the bible states that Satan, The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; and that has come that we may have life, and have it to the full.(John 10:10)
@seentoomuch100 theres 1000s of places Ladies can go but if you are a male then most of the time sorry a lot of the time males that go through this kind of thing commit suicide because they feel isolated & scared too get help they are looked down upon be their peers or do other more drastic things & before any of you say anything or go to judge UM HELLO I'm talking with experience here was once male now female so how much more experience do you need so ya I'm screwed forever now!!

As a survivor of child sexual abuse I cannot help but take this song to heart...However, as my abuse also included physical & mental, molesters, an exhibitionist, porn addicts, & voyeurs; this video was a bit disturbing. Personally, I would have left out the kissing, the tight clothes, & the short-shorts-as the majority of survivors tend to "over-dress"...and some of those scenes can be rather difficult triggers for us...
I know you didn't ask me but I don't think that was sexual abuse. As long as you weren't uncomfortable. When I was little my mom kissed me on the lips; I think in your case it was a parent-child thing.

@TopangaFilms I'm trying to understand just what your credentials are. What do you know about the depth of the damage done in an abuse situation? Yes, God will heal but there's no need to pay someone for God to do that. Shame on you if you are trying to capitolize off of an already tragic situation.
