What is the purpose of the loose strap in front? It it to prevent a lost boot?

Hi Vasin, the loose strap is our pastern strap. The pastern strap is not used as a source of securement. It has been designed so you don't lose a scoot boot in the unfortunate event it comes off.
Always ensure there is a one to two-finger gap between the pastern and the strap. This will ensure the strap will not cause rubbing on either side of the boot where the pastern strap is connected to the boot. fb.watch/5Jgo6QRmJX/ 😊

Why do some people have them only on the front. Some have them on all four.

The majority of the horses weight is carried on its front legs, so they can be more prone to be sensitive when walking on rough surfaces. It is individual for each horse and the condition of their hooves how much or how little hoof protection they need ❤️

Great question! They sure can, we have horses in Scandinavian regions and Canada Scooting! We also have our ice studs that can be easily added for extra security :) th-cam.com/video/eO3EhcjloEc/w-d-xo.html
