    I just got these scoot boots and I absolutely love them. Can’t wait to put some miles on to see how they preform. Long time EasyBoot user so excited to try something without the cables.

    Hi, what is the packing you have on his hoof? My boy has a stubborn sole abscess and he just recovered from one on the other hoof so he really is fed up with the dressing changes so I was looking into getting a boot for recovery and had been planning on purchasing scoot boots for riding as he is thin soled, don't want to spend the money on a therapy boot if I can use scoots.

    how many miles to you ride Boy at a time. They seem tight like on my horses. and I have experienced rubbing on distance rides more than 25 miles.

      Hi Lindsay, thank you for asking. The boots often do seem tight when they are first fitted. Like new leather boots, take it a little slow to start to break them in 😊 Our sizing team can always check the fit before you get going at sizing@scootboots.com For more sensitive skinned horses we do have endurance gaiters for added protection th-cam.com/video/r39ttCUbQCc/w-d-xo.html Boy has has racked up hundreds of miles in his Scoots now no problems 🥰

    I didn't need to use a hoof pick to close them.. does that mean the boot is too big? They seem to fit ok. Also, the scoot boot company doesn't say you have to use gaiters? but this video says you do? I'm using the gaiters, but just feel the information on these boots isn't very clear on the website.

      Hi thank you for asking 🙂it is ok if you can close them without a hoof pick. Some users find this easier and depending on their mobility and their horse . We are here to help with checking the fit at scootboots.com/pages/fitting-hoof-boots and via email sizing@scootboots.com When we check the fit we ask that you do not attach the trail gaiters for us to see the heel straps clearly. When using the boots we do recommend using the trail gaiters that come with your boot pack. We also sell Endurance Gaiters scootboots.com/collections/equipment/products/endurance-gaiter-pack these gaiters we recommend to particularly sensitive skinned horses and if you are doing endurance riding.💛

    Hello. Just about to use the Fit Kit for selecting the correct size of Scoot Boot for my mare. She has a lot of feather which I think will make the sizing more difficult. Do you have any tips for dealing with hairy feet? ( No I won't clip the feathers!) Thanks

    • @ScootBootsdownunder
      @ScootBootsdownunder  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      No need to clip feathers, we totally agree with you. The pastern strap is not designed to be fitted tightly and that is the strap that you would worry about feathers being problematic. We have just uploaded a new video with feathers here for you th-cam.com/video/lO08DKGeI6o/w-d-xo.html :)

    Do the scoot skins have the same sizing requirements?

    • @ScootBootsdownunder
      @ScootBootsdownunder  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      As a general rule, most horses will require one size smaller skin than the Scoots with the heel straps. Our sizing team can assist with sizing Skins scootboots.com/pages/sizing-hoof-boots :)

    I have just got a few scoot boot shells to try, but my horse is just a week away from her trim, will I need to make sure they fit quite snug when trying for size?

    • @ScootBootsdownunder
      @ScootBootsdownunder  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Good question Alison. It is best to size within two weeks of a fresh trim for an accurate size. Scoots are designed to fit comfortably for a 6 week trim cycle. You can even try the shells right after her trim :) Our sizing team are always happy to take a look for you and confirm sizing too at sizing@scootboots.com

      @@ScootBootsdownunder Hi thanks for the reply, I have decided on a size, they were quite snug at the back but the next size up was too big all over and a slim in that size too slim! Looking forward to getting them 😀
