They are unprotected. Typically, they ripen mid October and all finish by the end of the month. They are late but handle winters very well. They have performed similarly over the last five years, unprotected.
That one is six years. I cut them back to two feet every year. They would be earlier and more productive if I didn’t harvest all of the cutting wood. Ideally, without heavy pruning, it would be an even better harvest of fruit.
@@offthebeatenpathnursery9092 Excellent. I purchased 10 cuttings from you last December including an I-258. They were great quality cuttings and all but 2 grew aggressively so I put them in ground to get big roots. I'm hoping to get a good sampling in 2025.
This is valuable information for us. Nice to see.
Beautiful ❤️
Nice video Bill!
I just ate my last 1 yesterday that was finally ripe. I'm going to plant mine in the ground.
Yes yes yes, but when can I stop by to dig it out for you? :)
Do you sell plants in this variety?
I have Mario #50, which I think you've said is similar/same. Any updates on that comparison? Thanks.
I still believe they are the same.
These are in ground and do you protect in the winter? Or can they survive without that

How old is that tree in the ground

No organza bags or netting? The birds in your area must be blind.
There are birds, but they don’t touch them. It is a busy road. They tend to nick the orchard figs in the back.
Also it is a late fig, so some birds are moving out at the time.
