- 🎥 The Insta 360 Go3 has been reviewed by hundreds who sing it praises, but are they just your typical SOLD OUT youtubers that seem to dominate TH-cam now. Well Insta360 Go 3 wasn't exactly on my list, but here we are, with it in hand. No it was not sponsored, no there is no affiliate links, as always just real, raw, reviews, from the lens of honesty and money from my own pocket.

Here's another use case. As a result of an accident, I'm now living with quadriplegia. I've tried clipping a hero nine to my chest strap, but I can't see what it's pointing at. With this light little camera, I can clip it to my ball cap and get a preview From the pod. That way I have point of view when I turn my head rather than just shooting at whatever my chest is pointing at. And I can start and stop recording with voice commands like I can with a hero 09 - but the latter has a crappy mic and rarely hears me if there's any Road noise. I plan to sit the pod on the tray on my lap so I can monitor what I'm looking at. 🇨🇦♿️
Heck ya brother, that's an awesome use case. Yea the GP9, the voice, meh, horrible lol. I have not tested it directly, but from what I understand its pretty good in the Go 3! Just like I am kinda blown away by the mics as well. I have owned them all so far, and I do use them a good bit for sure. I appreciate the watch and more so the comment. Cheers mate!

Thanks for the honest review! but it's a bit hard for me to agree with some points you mentioned. I have multiple action cameras, but Go 3 is the only one I regularly take with me for hiking and running. The form factor is just unique and convenient- easy to mount and carry. POVs are good quality enough for me and I play with their AI editing templates a lot.
That's awesome. Yea for me the quality is not good enough for a main for what I do but as I mentioned I feel for some folks it is just fine! For example I too use it to hike and fish but I would never put it on TH-cam personally bc it doesn't look the best imo. But if it works as your main, heck yes, that awesome, and I'm all for it!!!! Upgraded from go 2 to go 3 and honestly, I'm not looking back. Missing out on 4K isn't ideal, but the addition of the screen is everything for me. It's super handy. No regrets.
Love it! Bummer about 4 k but I don't have any regrets either. I still think I'd would have stayed with my 2 personally but trust me I'm not disappointed I ended up having to upgrade. Ty so much for the watch and comment! Cheers!
Thanks for this 'real' review. The poor low light is a bummer. I have an Action 2 which has decent low-light but it's not a primary camera IMO because of the very wide field of vision. (Makes a great alternative-look shot though.) The audio on the Action 2 is first class. Speaking of... I wanna see a video on how you are recording and processing your audio. A before and after audio would be cool.
Hey Conrad, thanks for the watch and comment. I actually just used Adobe Podcast Beta. The raw audio was picking up barking dogs and planes so I ran it through Adobe Podcast to denoise. I don't have an adobe account but you can use it for free!
Casey Neistat sold me on the camera, thinking it would be great for vlogging. My parents bought it for me, $500+ and I’m finding it hard to shoot videos because of the focus and exposure problems. Not too many travel vlogging videos on TH-cam for me to check out

It's wild how good it is man. You can see a few comments below asking what I used. Seems others find it nice too. Has reduced my time in post and upped my quality. Win. Win.
Great review , I was unsure on whether to buy the go3 now or wait for go4 but thanks to your realistic review, I've decided on waiting to see whether go4 will have 4k or better frame rates or not, if not then I'll go with gopro or dji cameras.

Audio is excellent but doesnt fit the outdoor setting, sounds like you are at home on quality mic vs a camera mic
Yea it's the absolute weakest part of my game. I am self taught and audio is tough for me. Learning but not easy for me. I am starting to understand and to your point I need some ambient sounds else it doesn't sound natural. I was always like cut out all the "noise" but starting to understand that's not always the way to go. Cheers! Ty for the watch and the great comment! One thing I hate is the button .. too easy to start and stop recording, made me miss some important shots. Also on Go3 they removed the vibration on start and stop. I love the size and have the go2 but on fence about upgrading. I was looking into DJI action 2 but since that camera is released 2021 and still at $299 price tag seems over priced. They are keeping it at that price point because they just upgraded internal memory to 128gb. Any other small footprint cameras ? The action 4 and other GoPro sizes are just to heavy and large to strap on young kids.
No doubt, and the interface is super easy to mess up with a light touch. The delay from button to record kinda stinks too. It's a tough call between this and the action 2, you can get them refurbished for 200 bucks and under to include the screen add on. I don't know of any other camera that is this small on the market. I went with the Go 3 bc my 2 died, else I would not have upgraded. I just like and am just used to the insta go line up so it just seemed to make more sense for me seeing as I also carry another 4K camera. It tough bc the Action 2 has 4K 120 I think so ........I may end up getting that too and doing a review to compare them. Appreciate the comment and watch!
@italiangspot just wanted to mention I picked up the Action 2 last night. Got it for a good deal. Not sure if you are in the states but I ended up getting it and the extra screen attachment for $199.99. @@HillPhantom thank you for sharing that link. I haven’t heard of that site, have you ordered from them before? Hopefully don’t steal credit card and the item is new and official. Now it’s more tempting at that price point. At 299. I didn’t see it mentioned if it was the 32gb or 128 gb.
I have ordered from them before for my drone stuff, never had an issue. I agree at 299.99 no thank you. This is the 32GB version but, the attachment screen has an SD slot so you can easily expand the storage! This is huge as compared to the Go3. I saw that upgrade to 128, shame they just didn't come out with a better Action 2 + or something that had some more improvements. I don't want to get my hopes up but, I am very eager to see the differences.
@@italiangspot where did you see that, I see it carries the 1 year warranty on the site. Also once you register via memo app, you have the opportunity to add on DJI care as well from my understanding. But you may also be right, but it does state that on site that it includes 1 year warranty. I think either way I am ok with it. I will roll the dice lol.
I am able to attach it to my 3 year old and have her run around without her even minding. It’s been worth it for me just for that. For other stuff, I get better video from my iPhone 14 Pro Max.

I will admit i don't particularly trust insta360, especially with the reports ive heard of the 360 degree editing software spying on users
Unless GoPro comes out with a new 360 degree camera, then i will have to keep using their products (i currently have an X3, and have an X4 on order (the 8K mode is the reason why i ordered it))
And for "normal" cameras, i primarally use GoPros, but i do have 2 Action 2s (a 32gb model and a 128gb model), which don't get much use (i probably won't be buying any more DJI products, as i had a bad taste left in my mouth after purchasing the 32GB model (not a fault of the camera itself), and i only bought the 128GB model as i have something planned where i won't be able to use GoPros for some of the shots, oh, and ive also heard that there is something questionable about the activation process of the Action 2 when using the android app)
Insta is shady AF, all around, I don't trust them AT ALL! They are actually doing some bad things to get me thrown off TH-cam but I keep on going bc I think its import folks know what a JOKE they are...... GOPro was gonna come out with a new 360 like soon, but it got delayed :(. I have mixed feelings about the Action 2, I get horrible and I mean horrible gitters in the footage not matter what I do....super disappointed in the Action 2, wish they would come out with a new version not just more memory. I didnt have any issues activating the Action 2 tho..... Appreciate the comment and the watch mate, cheers and happy shooting!
@@HillPhantom its a shame i have to use insta360s spyware in order to even get a 360 degree video file that i can play and edit in third party software
With the Action 2, apparently on the android version of the app, you had to enter credit card information in order to activate the camera (i only have an iPhone, so I can’t check if that is still the case, but the iPhone version of the app, at least when i activated each of mine, doesn’t require that)
So far I haven’t run into any issues with my Action 2s, but for the thing ive got planned i will be taking all of my action cameras with me (including my GoPros (11 and 12, and maybe the 11 mini), both Action 2s, and at least 1 360 camera, maybe even both)
