Yes, and this variation starts at around 1.16.30 min! Interesting though, Altinay herself doesn’t travel all the way down the stage in this last diagonal, she only gets to the center of the stage. I thought it was supposed to be like that

On Maria Khoreva's channel there is also a video of her 'teaching' the audience the Medora variation, and when the ballonne on pointe part came she also said that there are a lot of choices for the dancer and the coach to decide. I think maybe Maria intentionally chose the softer approach because it seemed more 'her'?

I'm so glad you did this analysis -- having your perspective of training this for performance gave some great insight into the intense strength and coordination to achieve a beautiful, ethereal presentation. It makes me sad when I see people leaving cruel, judgmental comments about Maria's dancing, when she clearly has such a work ethic for fine technique that she uses as a solid base for embodying characters ❤

Do young dancers watch these videos to learn from their artistry? Seems like that would be the norm.
I am an absolute beginner viewer. Have been watching a few channels and I think I could be interested enough to attend a performance of a ballet if my city has a show.
As an audience member, how dressed up do I need to be? My impression is that ballet is an elite pursuit. Am I incorrect with this? Regards, Paul
I think it depends which city you’re in, for example if you were going to see the New York City Ballet or American Ballet Theatre (both in NYC) I’d imagine that everyone would be very dressed up given that these are some of the most renowned ballet companies in the world and hence, the tickets would likely be very expensive! However, if you’re just going to see a local production then you could pretty much wear anything! You will be sitting in the dark the entire time
