- Hello Everyone!
One amazing follower sent me some clips from when I was in my second year at Vaganova. This is a very rough rehearsal of our exam. As you can see we still aren't super clear what we are doing and are still very much in the improving stage of our classes but I just love this!!
It's so nice and fascinating to see the progression and I can only thank the follower who sent me this with all my heart as she sneakily filmed it!
For privacy I won't reveal her identity.
Please enjoy! we are far from polished here but I think it's so rare to find a non polished Vaganova video!
Enjoy! Like and subscribe!

Your secret weapon to excellence
this is really cool to see. Do you have any clips of your dancing during your time at the royal ballet school? It would be super interesting to see the changes you mention in that way.
Though not at the royal ballet school as we could barely film anything . I have some clips from my private lessons outside with my coach somewhere 😅
Thanks for sharing, yes very interesting. It is one of the things that suprises me is just how much strength and conditioning ballet demands to allow security and confidence.
Absolutely!
Isn't it amazing through training as a dancer and going to be a proffessional dancer you always remember how grateful you are with the teachers within school company life that have inspired you and had faith in you and your ability when you doubted yourselves I was so lucky to be inspired by many great teachers and choreographers I now pass on my passion to students Adults ..and I so relate to your videos thank you 😊😊
Thank you Isabella! It's so wonderful to see you dance
Thank you!
Bravo Isabella. Your Royal Ballet School roots of British understatement look beautiful.
😂😂😂😂 British understatement? Lol
Well done! How wonderful!
I am so excited to watch this!
Thank you, Isabella! That's fantastic!
love these kinds of videos analyzing your vaganova years
I liked this video alot. It's a real treat.
Beautiful dancing really enjoyed it. It is hard work and it shows how hard you worked. X🎉❤
I appreciate you sharing, your beautiful dancing with us. You do look stronger.😍
Love watching this footage. Yes, you can see that you're moving right along physically and technically. And the ever-present photograph........watching. Great post.
Hi.thanks for the video!
You're welcome!!
I loved watching this video! What I find striking is that you had those beautiful high legs, but the confidence wasn't fully there. The girl in the shorts grabbed my attention, because of the way she delivers the movement. There are many things that are not quite right technically speaking, but she demands our attention, whereas you are so focused on what you have to do that you almost forget to dance (in this video). It is beautiful to see that all your hard work has paid off! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Great observation. I was just heavily focused on what I was doing and still building strength. She was also a very confident young lady! Not as strong technically but sure of herself. I got far more confident in the next 2 years.
Isabella speaks beautifully! I never saw her before.
Thanks!
Hello, Isabella, thanks for the wonderful video! What did you do in life after that? Do you dance now?
OMG you studied in the same class as Ksenia Shevtsova i love
her!!!!!
Yes and she’s so funny 😂
❤❤❤❤ your lines are divine! Your talent as an entrepreneur ballerina and teaching is so incredibly important. You are passing on the legacy of all your great teachers, namely your Russian teachers. Oh how the stage misses you. I wish you could do some performances here and there as you wish
Amazing. I notice you are ahead your classmates, you legs go a bit higher, your jumps a bit stronger.
Beautiful! When I did ballet professionally, I auditioned for the ABT, the San Francisco and New York City Ballets. Didn’t get in, but did manage to get into their lesser known counter parts. I almost went to the Joffrey School of Ballet, but that didn’t pan out.
How do you build the strength in the legs then? (I have this issue: I’m not able to keep the legs high and lack balance in pirouettes through la k of strength). Or is it just practice that simply build strength?
It is absolutely lovely to watch you grow in the most amazing school. I wonder, do all the girls in your class did they start very young within the Vagonaova school or did they come in later to study? Thank you for sharing love your channel love seeing inside the school and teaching
Most of them started at the beginning ❤️
@@balletwithisabella what age do they take them from Isabella thank you
@@denisemew4185 They start at 10 in a pre-grade 1 class, everyone even if you’ve had ballet classes goes into this level. Annually, between 5000 and 7000 10 year olds apply and go through local auditions. A couple hundred who’ve made it through the local auditions travel to The Institute for a final audition. About 70 kids are selected and start in the pre-grade 1 By the end of that first year that group of 70 will be cut down to about 20 girls and 20 boys who continue on to Grade 1. A few foreign students are allowed to join in the later grades if they pass an audition and there are a few who’ve won scholarships at Prix de Lausanne for example.
❤️💜❤️
Can you do a Video about uniform rules at vaganova? I didnt exactly expect the black shorts?
The black shorts is if they’re on their period
@@lionsmaine1238 ow wow I’m glad that they allow that, some studios don’t allow anything
@@Balletlover777 Yes there’s another video on this channel where Isabella discusses the policy with Suvi if you want to know more
Thanks!! ❤
I didn't expect the skirts, I thought they would only be allowed for exams
thank you for the video i always look forward to it!! it's so interesting to see the difference between my school compared to places like vaganova, the world class school that refines the skills of countless amazing dancers such as yourself :)
i was wondering what sort of meals you prepared for yourself when at vaganova, especially since the food in the canteen obviously wasn't best suited for you as a foreigner?
She has a video on her channel all about this
Yes I have a video down the feed about nutrition and ballet snacks
@@rainbows.and.daisies @BalletwithIsabella ah tysm!! 🫶🏼
How many years you spent in Russia. Its obvious you are accomplished ballerina since you provide ballet lessons,do enjoy your channel.Thanks.
Aprox. 4 years.
From September 2008 to 2012.
4 years training and then I worked with a couple of companies for another few x
How old were you in this?
Did you ever meet Цискаридзе / Ciskaridze during your time in Vaganova
How old were you?
Question. Were you treated differently as a foreigner than say a Russian girl in terms of opportunities? I recently found your channel. Are you not dancing. You looked really good. Training makes a huge difference.
