    Just seen this review, 2 years after, but thank you. I've got my eye on one of these. A custom, actually... They are nigh on impossible to get hold of in the shops, you have to order them, and I am reluctant to do that without trying one. Luckily I got hold of Hagstrom, they got hold of Rosetti (their UK distributors), who actually called me! They happen to have a white one, and they're going to ship it to a local dealer for me to try, this week. That's customer service for you!
    I am actually interested in the black one - I am not tall and I thought it would not look quite so huge on me as the white one! But at least I will get to try one, even if it's the white. And yes, I agree, whatever colour, it's a gorgeous guitar. (I am also a Ghost fan... so it makes sense to add this to my collection!)

      Hi there Ian :-) Wow! That's amazing in this day and age where no-one seems to care about what the customer wants. The pickups are astonishing as memory serves. You're right about the physical dimensions of these - they're enormous! White or black, they'll still make a statement! Hope you like it. Cheers,Gary :-)

      Hey Rev, can't thank you enough for letting me review these :-) What a corker from Hagstrom! I'm really loving the sound of this fine instrument and the guitar itself has such a visual impact. I'm now on the lookout for some of those Lundgren pickups - they're amazing :-)

    The custom has a neck-thru construction, middle block and neck is canadian maple with mahogany wings. All Schaller hardware including strap lock system, GraphTech Ratio Tuners, real Ebony fretboard, stainless steel frets(a real game changer), a volute were the neck meets the headstock for extra stablity/re-enforcement/resonence/sustain, and Luminlay side dots (glow in the dark for when you're on stage).
    It's quite a substantial leap from the standard.

      Wow! Hi Matt :-) I'm loving the sound of the 'glow in the dark' fret markers! I'm also guessing that the custom version isn't made in the Far East. Whist these are fabulous guitars, and those Lundgren pickups are truly astonishing, my main problem is - and please let me make it clear that this is MY problem and not one with the manufacture - the thing's just sooooo BIG! Whilst these have an astonishing physical presence and they truly look amazing, I find, in general, big guitars are not for me. I prefer a little sportscar rather than a bus! However, these guitars are so well made and so beautiful to look at, one can't help but admire their statuesque presence :-)

    I've had one of those on my list for sometime. I believe the fret board is some type of composite.

    • @benstokes806
      @benstokes806 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It's a resonater fretboard .hagstrom uses this has it plays faster and give a better sustain..it's a beatifull guitar to play .I also have a hagstrom impala again beatifull guitar .

      Hi there :-) Yes, I meant to mention the fretboard but completely forgot do so. Just like the Rev says in an earlier comment, it's Hagstrom's own trademark registered 'Resinator' material. I have two thoughts on this; firstly I'm wondering if the 'resin' prefix is a clue to how the composite material is made and secondly, could there be a hint of 'Richlite' going on there? Whatever it is, it's a fabulous material. We'll have to see if it stands the test of time :-)

    very nice, sounds surprisingly powerful, I think I want one- I also like the police siren sound that it makes.....

      Hey cuzz, I'm trying to copyright the siren with the specific pitch one can hear through my (clearly) dodgy double glazing :-)

      Hi Ben, it really is a beast. It has an even bigger physical presence than a Firebird! Those pickups are incredible :-)

    What is about a white guitar with black trim that just turns heads?. Very Gibson RD inspired perhaps? Love the centre tone! Wish I had a mate like your Rev buddy with all these wonderful guitars.

      @FoxysGuitarShow  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi there GW, yes, lucky me! The good Rev has quite an extensive collection which I'm lucky enough to maintain and review. I totally agree with your RD assimilation. This one reminded me so much of the Firebird and it has exceptional physical presence.....it's mahoosive :-)

    Outstanding, as usual and a beautiful guitar. What sort of music sounds good to you Roxy?

    • @FoxysGuitarShow
      @FoxysGuitarShow  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Russ, hmm... my tastes are pretty broad in a Mozart to Motorhead way. Right now I'm listening to a lot of Paul Gilbert and when I was watching MADMALKO last night I was turned on to Babymetal (ace) and then the Tube pinged on to the Waggaki Band (even acer!). My meat and two veg music is guitar based rock and my favourite guitarist is Satchell from Steel Panther :-)

      Hi Michael, I just wished it wasn't so big and clumsy. Reminds of the Firebird - it's a bit of a handful. BTW, I'll have you know the G4M staff have almost a full half day training before they're sent out to the shop floor :-)

      Hi, how's it going? What an amazing instrument! Ah, I think I see what you mean; I'm guessing you're alluding to the country of manufacture. I tend to find that musicians are less concerned about the country of origin and more about how we feel about something on an individual basis. Very nice to hear from you again and I'm still loving your show. Thanks for writing in, lovely to hear from you :-)
