- This is my very first TH-cam video where I hope I explain how I came to my decision to buy a chateau in France and a little bit about my background. Hopefully, it's not too cringey.

Hi Abby, I ve been playing all your videos and having quick looks at anything that might show your address. Aside from having the name of your stunning Chateau, knowing it’s near the town of Agen, between Bordeaux and Toulouse, I’ve not found an address for you.
I would like to send a small package. Is it possible to have your address? I’m trying to place your Chateau in relation to other Château I am exploring out of curiosity.
I forgot to mention that for many years now I am back living near Seattle, but hoping to return to Perú, where I am originally from. There I shall surrounded by my family of choice will remain til my passing.
For the last 4 years I’ve mostly been bedbound. I spent many years living in England. This allowed me opportunities to travel back and forth to France, visiting friends and exploring lovely, off the beaten path villages, and precious countryside ruins, houses, chateau and certainly Emmaus and brocantes.
I am feeling rather tired so I’ll say so long for now. Promise not to write such a long email again. I so look forward to knowing where you live. All the best.🦋

Welcome to the chateau TH-cam world. You have an amazing story and I can’t wait to see what the future looks like for you. Being a content creator on TH-cam my biggest advice would be don’t entertain the haters. There are all over the world that just eight get off by judge your every decision, the safety police patrol, or just truly vial people that do it just because they are cowards who’s lives are boring or sad so they just want to make everyone as sad and angry as they are.
Remember there will 20-100 people giving you real advice or encouragement. You will make friends all over the world that will make you part of their family. They will be there when you doubt why you bought a chateau and those that will fall in love with your home as much as you do. I really hope to see your future project. Good luck and always crack on 😅

Yes, those are the people who are NOT living their own lives or chasing their own dreams. They spend their days on the computer criticizing those who do. I have been traveling solo for 40+ yrs and this world holds so much for all of us to enjoy.
I am bursting with pride for you! You are a survivor! And yes, our 9/11 widows hold a special, tender place in all our hearts. As a younger widow myself, but without children, I have such admiration for you for taking the plunge.
My BFF and her husband redid a 300 yr old farm house on the Brittany coast and is where I fell in love agin for the 2nd time with France it is the most magical place in the world. I do hope you can move there permanently!
In a year from now, you will look back and see this as a marvelous accomplishment (besides darling children). All the hard part is now. French paperwork is more than challenging. But you will soar and be inspired be France! 💕

I’m still working as a flight attendant but I’m an artist as well & have been obsessed with Paris and France since a little girl. Seriously considering a move in 2023. So happy to find your channel and follow along with your journey.

I got separated and bought a house in 2007, yes at the time of that last financial banking fiasco and it all worked out. I am glad you are going ahead with this. You are really going to have a great adventure. I am so glad I found your channel!

The guests arriving for a time of peace, reflection...learning gratitude and developing a new inner joy. Translating your book into French (if not already available) is a must do. Keep doing videos. I too have been following the chateaux in France…it’s so encouraging and broadens my horizons literally and emotionally…Always lifts my spirits!
I too lived in Europe -seven years - Germany-in a Christian community- (late 70’s to early 80’s) and loved getting to know a whole other way of life,culture and language…it shaped me in so many ways.

I can't imagine losing someone I love, let alone losing that person during 9/11 and have to relive that day year-after-year on 9/11. You are amazing and inspirational for continually standing tall despite your tragedy and having to raise 2 young children on your own. You look happy and at peace. Wishing you all the best!

Just one word of advice, don't fear recessions. All the work you can't do yourself will come much cheaper when the tradesmen are hurting for business too. Schedule your reno projects with that in mind.

Oh geez...9-11... I'm so, so sorry. I visited ground zero in 2016 and totally lost it, uncontrollable tears running down my face. I didn't know anyone who was there but as every American was, I too was traumatized but this huge event. I had my daughter with me as it was her spring break and had to explain to her why I was so emotional. The visit was profound and moving. I don't ever want to go back...just thinking of it breaks me up. All my best wishes to you Abby.

Oh ! how wonderful Abby, I am doing this as well. Just put an offer on a Chateau near Limoge and have sold my Hotel in Wales yesterday, all packed up and waiting to sign. So happy to see someone doing the same thing on their own as I am at the same time. Be brave is what I keep telling myself and boy I am going to have fun. Hope to meet you along the way.
OMG .. me too how delighted to learn about kindred spirits. After making it through stage 4 cancer, a mercyless brutal divorce, loosing both of my boys I decided to not give in nor give up on life nor myself but to do something for my bruised soul and to make my boys proud. Watching "Escape to the Château DIY" during my cancer treatment and grief, it somehow served as a magic key to a locked door within me, I finally allowed myself to dream again. It was this daydreaming of renovating something special, to breath new life into something that I felt it might somehow breath new life back to me. So this daydream of being a Châteleine one day became my daily muse, mantra and medicine - my very "Eat, Love and Pray" movie. I, well actually the Château found me in such magical way, and I am soon also starting my "U Tube Vlog" about my journey of becoming a Châteleine, being a Châteleine and doing something amazing and extraordinary magical for myself and my new beginning and fresh start in my mid 50s .. so thrilled to know two other amazing women doing just the same something amazingly rewarding and extraordinary magical&brave buying a French Château .. so hope to meet the lovely&amazing two of you along the way .. to our fab braveness ladys, Abby from @The Chateau Chronicles and @The Chatelaine .. 🍷🍷💖🏰
