This advice is priceless. Very simple, and just such a beautiful way of thinking about what we’re trying to actually accomplish when we transcribe tunes.

Perfect timing! I was actually just looking into starting transcribing some solos since I’ve never done it before. I found a good Snarky Puppy one I’d like to try and I’ve listened to it like 400 times already 😂

Nice! Sounds like you're half way there already!

And starting is definitely a good step just in case you feel hesitant. I think I’m the end you get at least something. Don’t be hard on yourself if you get notes wrong… I find the notes you hear sorta say a lot about your ear and how you would phrase or place certain notes… especially with the chromatic aspects when transcribing.

    Nice! Agree with every word.
However, what do you think about learning solos from ready transcribed sheets?
I'm sure doing it your self it's better but don't you think that making everything the same but memorising from a ready part could save some time?🤔

Heya Bobby, could you please do a LCC analysis of Inner Urge? Im interested in seeing how youd interpret it

That's a great tune to analyze with the Concept. I'll put it on the list!

You hire a TH-cam guy to do it for you! We used to wear out the tape recorder. Now you can make the computer slow it down.
